I have no router, no firewall, switch, bells or whistles - and my server won't show up in the in-game browser - any thoughts?

I would reccomend some individual counciling sessions - your parents health insurance should cover it if you are under 24 - and some dual sessions with you and your sister; to figure out where this comes from.

Both of you could have suffered physical abuse - sexual, and not - from either one of both of your parents...

What does incest have to do with your problem, that isn't a problem?

What version of MOH are you running?
What OS are you running?

If your running SH , make sure your update to the latest rev.

If your running XP make sure the built in firewall is disabled.

lol - thanks for all the suggestions, sorry to use such a cheap trick! I'm running SH v2.11 and Win2K - I left the server wide open (no router or firewall) as a test. It failed. I'm at a loss...may have to tear it down and start again.

Had to check, I don't have the Audigy 2. This is interesting though...I cranked up AA and it came up in the in-game browser w/+ w/o a firewall. Weird huh.

Go into Network connections and highlight your network connection (assuming your using broadband) and choose properties. and click the Advanced tab. Should be back in there.

First of all are you running both SH and AA on this server? If so this can screw up SH being seen on GS, ASE and the ingame browser. I never figured out how to get the server to be seen(There are serveral lines you can put in the server.cfg file to help). Some reason switching between the two games screws up the broadcast. Anyways, I didn't get this problem figured out until I got a new server and just run SH.

You don't need to disable XP's firewall to setup a MOH game.

Argon, I was just running SH - I switched over to AA just to see if the problem was the same. Some people have said they've run into this prob after installing the 2.11 patch, which is what I have.

Have you put '+ set_dedicated 1' in your command line?

Ok, here's where I get to show my stupidity - I'm not sure exactly how you do that.

Is the server dedicated or non-dedicated?

Dedicated = you see the console, and cannot play MOH on that machine.

Non-dedicated = setup though the game, you can play/host.

I've tried it both ways, although I really want to set up a dedicated server. I'm familiar with the console, but mainly just for key bindings.

ok, goto http://www.mohadmin.com, then the server.CFG examples. Follow them to make a simple dedicated server.

If you need to, relate to Rudedog's Complete RCON Guide in the Guides section for commands for your server.
