I'm not really sure what that is, or what it was about. In English, we read a story about a Sniper in the Irealnd war thing.

This whole situation was caused by England (as usual) who just had to go to some one elses country and say this is ours now. I dont support some of the tactics of the I.R.A but I support there cause, unlike my Grandfather in Liverpool who believes that whatever England decides to do is right. This problem would never have arisen if the English goverment had'nt stuck its big fat ass on Northern Ireland.

Southern Ireland was given its independance in 1921, we invaded it around 1600. Thats a date thats older than your country, back then everyone was invading everyone else with empires and bs..

The people in Northern Ireland wanted to stay British, so on on behalf of self determination they should be.

Now lets take a look at american history, I could blame you for invading and settling in the U.S. and taking land from the indians, what if the indians got a bunch of bombs and started people up? Would you be mad if I agreed with their cause?

Are you a fucking idiot, no i retract that statement YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT. The south of ireland was given its independance but in reality it was the majority of ireland that wanted it. Untill you bastards set foot over here in the 1600's there wasn't such a thing as a protestant in ireland. But you shipped them over to your mills in the north of ireland and they became "loyal to the crown" which is where the term loyalist comes from.

If they want to remain "loyal" to the crown they can fuck off to england with the rest of you. England started this shit and you're left to deal with it, its not our fault you shipped "prods" over here to form their own little "we are british" part of the country. Well before many Irish people starved to death under British rule during the 1800s. I dont support the tactics but the cause as well.

IRA is fighting for it's countries independence and the organisation is not based around killing innocents. I think you mean the Provoisional IRA which split from the IRA...those guys concentrate more on the violence factor.

One thing I don't get about the loyalists is how come they feel they owe no loyalty to the country that has been their home for 400 years(in some families cases anyway). Anyway 1/3 of the population in the North is Catholic (nationalists) and in time that population will steadily grow until they outnumber the loyalists and a referendum will succeed.

My family is Irish and my Dad is an Irish citizen. I fully support the idea of a united, independent Ireland. I've also visited Ireland and it's such a nice country.

I'm also a ravid Australian Republican. Once the 1950s population fucks off and dies in Australia the next generation will most certainly vote for independence.

the loalist movement yes but not all the northern irish people are terorist like not all southern irish people are but i find the idea of a memoral to the ira an afornt to the people i know who lost family when the ira found it amusing to blow up a pub in birmingham what kind of polictical target is that tey are thugs and i think the hole topic should be removed

i think you accutally look at the histroy of ireland that is was the theate of a catholic invation instigated in rome that cause the intitial movement toward the control of island but then again most amerian are irish in decent so i'm wasting my time but if you knew people who had lost familey due to them then you would not be saying this
