Cheating is so rampant in MOHAA...
 

MOHAA remains one of my favorite games of all time, I've spent many a rainy day and night playing multiplayer and the excellent single player game. Then I took a 5 month break, came back, and discovered that there were many more cheaters on MOHAA and on servers that claimed to prevent such cheating.

I watch folks 'look through walls' (at least I think that's what they are doing by their actions, I know people use the 'turn everyone neon green', autbot aiming, etc. Sadly, I wish I could find a server that didn't have cheating on it, but I've not found it yet.

Why do so many people have to ruin a great game by cheating? <sigh>

the most cheaters are in your mind. it's not as big of a problem as some would like you to think (for their own personal gain.)

I agree. Some people are just real fuggin good. However, there are cheaters. No doubt about it.

I agree -not everyone out there is a cheater...but I've watched lots of folks do some really dodgy things. I understand that no matter how good you think you are there is always someone better -but it just pisses me off to see so many folks abusing a good game...practice makes better, but these losers don't seem to get that....

On all servers there shud b a cheater scanning program...I know on Counter strike it worked very well and booted a lot of ppl :)..I think it should be the same on Mohaa. It would make the game much better.

As much as we'd like to say there are, there are no cheat-free servers in MoH:AA. Everytime we stop them, they come up with something else.

However, if you want a server that is aggressively anti-cheat, monitored relentlessly, and remains on the edge of anti-cheat software, you should try the PureServers.com Public Server, or AllAboutNothing.net's server.

Tomorrow is a day for a lot of things regarding that issue. It will be the deadline we gave the web host, the day the FBI gives us the list of charges and the sentences they carry, and the day I'll have to decide whether or not to testify and ultimately very seriously disrupt someone's life.

Still, it is bad that the legal action is only against teamgod, i mean that's good and all, but it still doesn't stop lots of cheating, only hacked servers really.

Cheating destroy more the community than the game , thats the problem . THe real great player can't play anymore because they always get acuse of cheating . Thats sad because cheater got no skill in fact.

Cheating destroys the community, not just the game. I have played in numerous games, where I've thought, Jeez, this guy is a natural born killer. He plays, he gets killed, but I can see by the way he's playing, effective use of cover, advancing under fire or "Pepperpotting" as we call it for real, that he's very very good. Unfortunately, I see a lot of people, who charge around like Captain Scarlet, who never get killed, or who use a sniper rifle in an assault role, and still get huge scores, in the 50:1 ratio. Had one last night, where I emptied the STG I'd picked up, and the guy zig-zagged, lean strafing and took me out with one shot. Even other people around me commented the guy was cheating, and a lot of them , are very good players.

We get upset, because it is competition, and we want to know we are better than the other guy, just like real life, But we want a level playing field. It gets on my titz, to see a guy I know cheats, getting on the forum and saying "Yeah, i'm just great, I got a kill ratio like you wouldn't believe" Yes I know you have you fcuking cheating spawn camping wallhacking lowlife.

Maybe we should have a "Report Cheaters" section with a report template?

That way, other Server Bosses, can be on the lookout for certain players that they know cheat, and ban the IP.

Don't knock leaning and strafing, I got mine binded to my mouse keys so I can own you.. it comes in handy on V2 when there are like 12 axis shotgunners bearing down on you. biggrin:

Like the server I played on today, it was an EASY kind of server. Guys with shotties coming round corners already shooting, or worst still , dropping a fcuking grenade from above the vent, when I was in tiptoe mode inside the tunnel. One tosser bragging about how fcuking good he was, with me screaming, turn ur fcuking wallhack off , and guest players sacking it left right and centre. - lol

Shut the fcuk up you stupid child. I was playing on the server for 2 hours, it was only in the last half hour and on the V2 map, when it became really obvious, with members of their clan sending messages like "Have we all get the special equipment?" It was so blatant on the V2 map, that people were coming in, playing and leaving after 2 games.

I didn't start playing MOHAA only yesterday, and as I have always been advised, don't start accusing, until you can see what's going on. I saw, I accused.I didn't just jump in.

So, are u another cheating scummer Scriptor, who cheats. because he thinks it's kEwL? Becuase that's the only reason I can see for your post.

Get back under your fcuking rock Scriptor, cheating is killing MOHAA , people are witchunting, because the problem is so bad.. The cheats don't give a fcuk. As soon as Mohaa dies, and Spearhead, they'll be moving on, like frigging parasites, to the next game they'll ruin.

We need a piece of software, that works like mailwasher to be run serverside, that will list all cheats and autoboot anyone using them. I can live with minor cheats , like no recoil but wallhacks, neon skins, shooting through walls, teleporting and all the rest are killing it. Why should we tolerate it, when the game cost 40.00 , the cost of your broadband connection on top, and the worst of all, idiots screwing with your fun time?

All you can do is find a good server, with people you trust not to h#x.

I just did a quick search to see what I could find and the net is littered with these damn cheats.

Someone should start an organization against cheating to formerly dismount any online servers(http, ftp,etc) that host files like this or even promote it in any way.

What scripts are you using for an automatic disconnection? How can it tell when people are cheating? I'm seriously interested in running a server, but don't want it spoilt, especially as I'm paying for it

i think he means autokick, but i would bet he's just shitting us since he sounds no older than 13

I ran into my first cheat today. He was using the name" Unamed Solider". Guess he uses that when he decides to cheat. He was pulling off amazing shots with a bolt action rifle. Even up close while straffing, and me all over him with an SMG. He was using the typical CS lingo and rhetoric, that's so common with little snot nosed acne faced teens who cheat. I am positive he was cheating, because I'm no newb. I just started playing Moh again after about a year. I used to be good. I'd get accused of cheating every day. I think my best score was around 225 kills, 20 deaths. Now I only do around 55 kills, 15 deaths. I'm not trying to sound cocky, just want to make the point that I'm not a newb and can recognize a cheater. It took me almost a year straight of playing hours every day to get that good, it just pisses me off now to get owned by some F'n cheater. I wished there was a way to stop it.

So you going to ask him out?

Here are 2 things that I have noticed about cheaters:
1. I get a kick out of the dumbass land-shark cheaters. They die more often then any regular player or newbies.

2. With so many many people cheating or trying to, most decent servers are running scans to kick out illegal skins. I run my own clan server and sometimes try out new mod programs to see if they will work well on the server. One of the last ones i tried was CoolMods (5.1 i think.) I Installed and ran I think a rifle only mod. I decided to test it out on the local machine the server was on, looked good. I then went out to some server on gamespy and started playing. Next thing I know I'm getting warned for illegal skins. I'm thinking WTF! This happens on a few servers so i go ahead and unistall CoolMods. Problem solved. So I start thinking what all is considered illegal????? And why would something illegal be placed in a server side app???

Moral of the story: These so called cheaters are ruining the game for everyone else. blah blah blah blah blah
