H2O v. Coke
WATER
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. 2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. 3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. 4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study. 5. Lack of water, the 1st trigger of daytime fatigue. 6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. 7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. 8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. COKE 1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. 2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days. 3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China. 4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coca-Cola 5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. 6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. 7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminium foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy. 8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield. For Your Info: 1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis. 2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate), the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials. 3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years |
yheah that is a reason why i have stopped drinking any kind of soda for 2 years it also stains your teeth, besides that its expensive as shit
yet it still tastes great
I have seen many of the arguments against coke on an urban legends site, they are false.
Coke makes my mouth extremely dry..I'd prefer water over Coke. I do drink Dr. Pepper and Sprite though..
number 5 is complete BS, you can't clean rust/corrosion off with phosphoric and carbonic acid.
oh but you can cause i tried it the other day
Yeah Old, I stopped drinking any sort of soda a long time ago. Not very healthy........... Nevermind that I smoke a pack and a half a day.

lol everything turns into a flame war
Being an extreme athlete and weight lifter now, I try to drink as much water as possible...
Indeed, Soda is good and addicting, but I wouldn't buy Coke especially for home, only going out or eating out. |
sprite is better
HAH! Innoxx, so damn weird, isn't it?? I used to preach about eating healthy foods and drinks, but going to parties every weekend and smoking is actually contradicting on those statements.
Since I play track, and cross country, is fucking impossible smoking and drinking during those seasons. |
coke is extremely bad after exercise, turns your stomach inside-out.
Gatorade is best after exercise, IMO |

READ Thread Title ( H2O v. Coke ) |
I'm trying to lose weight and get in shape, so soft drinks are out. Diet drinks are bad for your kidneys, so H20 is my drink of choice.
Something interesting I found out. . .Cold water is harmful to your esophagus over time and can cause kidney problems. Better to drink water at room temperature. Dasani(Coca Cola) or Aquafina(Pepsi). Arrowhead is full of parasites. . .spring water my ass. |
I love soda so much, ill drink it till the day i die
i love soda, but i gotta drink da water
I limit myself to 2 caffinated sodas a day.

As a matter of fact....they arent. These ones anyway.[/quote:39ea9] Actually, ball wook, this one is, word for word, quoted on the urban legend sites. http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/acid.asp My favorite quote was this: The only people who proffer the ridiculous statements that Coca-Cola will dissolve a steak, a tooth, or a nail in a day or two are people who have never actually tried any of these things, because they just don't happen. (Anyone who conducts these experiments will find himself at the end of two days with a whole tooth, a whole nail, and one very soggy t-bone.) |

Hmm. Those are probably the makers of coke and pepsi who said that eek:[/quote:8799b] *sigh* Did you follow the link? It is a third party site. Do a google search for urban legends and choose any of the sites that come up. Anyone that has ever worked in a restaurant that has the boxes of syrup knows that the metal racks they sit on dont corrode overnight, they just get sticky, and they have to be cleaned with with soap and water, not more coke. |
I was joking. Anyways, coke is still bad for you.

Yes it is. Thats why I have a frosty can of Dr. Pepper in front of me. oOo: |
lol thats not good for you either. I think theres like heroin in Dr. Pepper cause i know alot of ppl that are hooked on that shit. This one guy drinks like 6 cans a day, no jokes.
A six pack a day keeps the shakes away.
