EYE CANDY TOTAL CONVERSION
 

The initial release has been posted. The intention: To have the community
come together and provide a mod in one package that includes new: textures, skies, complete hud, text and voice, amb. sound, blood, player and weapon skins, menu etc. There is a lot of good talent out there, and a lot of modders getting credit, i would simply like to see everyone contribute
to a complete remake with credit going to all. I believe that: avatars, crosshairs and scopes have become too varied and player specific, so they have not been included. I dl'd both a and b (Propaganda and War seem to be the same, correct me if I'm mistaken), and ran through both on the stock maps. I've gotta say, I really like what you've done. I like the change in color schemes and skys you came up with. Very pleasing to my eye, especialy 'Crossroads'.

I have one bit of input and one request:

Input-- The change you made to the sky on 'Southern France' is good, but doesn't quite fit. The light source is still a beaming sun from about 1-2pm, and the rest of the sky is about 5pm. The general lighting, against the new sky gives an impression of an impending storm, but the cloud formations don't fit. See what I'm getting at?

Request-- Permission to change a few of the posters on 'Remagen'. I'm turning the rest of my clan onto EyeCandy, but I'm sure the female members wouldn't care for the 'Swank Mag' poster shots. I'm thinking of changing them to, or if you'd rather do it yourself, to the 'Pinup Girls' posters.

Again, I really like what you've done, and thanks for the effort.

A good idea, but I don't see it happening. You would need 1/2 of the community to come together and vote on which skin/mod/sounds, etc they like best, then you have the other 1/2 that don't like those files and refuse to use em.

ya but jor thats the fun part, u debate about it and see what files make it. They will pick the best ones for the community and Eyecandy is a great game if you guys can make it better that would be amazing

Final Product?
 

The final product would also include the option to exclude some of the changes and possibly two or more complete choices on weapons etc. Everyone has their preference, that is why the choice is left to the user. You can take eye candy as is or make it the way you prefer. It all comes down to the final product, and how it will be packaged with options similar to how merciless did the 1942 add-on. I strongly believe that the final product should include as many options as possible during install. The ability to turn it on and off as well would be good also. I f anyone can help with this portion feel free to contact me or anyone else involved in the project. One final note, just so the girls don't feel left out maybe a pinup version for them? If I get enough requests! Or better yet if a package can be made by a female member of our community ( Sitting behind photoshop and cropping male posters for a couple of hours really does not excite me, and I don't need someone walking in the room and asking: What the hell are you doing? -lol- :)

I have included a few changes, you will not get a readme or install package untill further into the conversion so just replace your older version.

I like this a lot. More warm looking, as if it's not really focused. Puts a little more realism into the spectrum. I haven't placed it, but looking at the pics it feels like I'm really there. I wonder what this would look like with 3D glasses?

The eye candy thing sounds great, but I think your site needs a little work. I came out of there with a migraine. hard to navigate too.

Well I will assume that you did not bother to run the site in the proper resolution. This site is intentionally setup to be run one way, and with the proper fonts installed. Both aspects of which can be found on the index page of the site and and the eyecandy start page. I am not willing or have a desire to make my sites normal or otherwise common. If you want something easy or normal feel free to visit just about any other site. This site is also designed to discourage the occasional visitor to leave with the longer page loads. My members have no problem accessing the known and unknown features of said site, and that's all I need. If you access the site regularly with cookies installed you will have a more pleasant experience.

I've got aquestion. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to new mods and such. What exactly is this? Does it change how the maps look for you so you get a different feel on the maps? Can you play on servers with out this mod? What does it do?

This is to give everyone the ability to play the same maps with a complete
new look and feel. As of now you will see new:
Skies
Textures
Vehicles
Models
Explosions
Taunt and command menus
Main Menus and sounds/cursors
Etc. - Etc.

There will be a total of 4 main installs with the final product, and many more sub options. Sub option examples with or without included reskins on weapons, x-hairs, scopes, blood mods(now included), sound mods(now included). Global text, realism choices or opt to go original.
The 4 main options on final product will be:
Pin-up version with or without reworked stock maps
War-propaganda version with or without reworked stock maps

A light or full install for example on that.

An example of reworked stock maps; at least one modification to each stock map. Good example of this- Wouldn't it be nice to get in the clock tower in Remagen, need i say more. The full install option if you opt to go with it needless to say would only be playable on an eyecandy server. But with the light option you can play any server regardless if the server runs eyecandy. If you want to use the full install you can still play any server due to the core remaining inside a user-pk3. I am presently working with ea on this and can ensure that this will be done properly. I must say that community involvement will be a deciding factor on the quality of the final product. The ability to turn it on and off easily will be the hardest part.

If you are getting tired of seeing the same maps, the same look, than this is your best option. I am looking to achieve the highest over-all approval rate on this, that is why the amount of options are necessary. To answer your question as of now, you can download one of the two themes and be able to see just about any map in a different light. I have recently reworked all the taunt and command menus that match my server local. So if you want to see the full effect that can be achieved you would need to join that server, you can see the server info on the multi-player menu inside
MOHAA. My clan has all of the matching audio as well but i need to work on the integration of the multiplayer sounds into the conversion. The sound pack is presently at 60 MB alone and is not posted on the site. The menus,
localization text, and command menus are not final, and should be decided
and supported by the community. Warning may offend some!

So to sum it all up, everyone has the ability to play and contribute to this conversion. Or you can keep checking on the status of other conversions without the ability to try it, or create it. You have the choice here!

I've downloaded this mod and i have to say, "great job!" You guys get two thumbs up by the little blad dude (me). The only complaint is the font and the text of the voice commands. I know you said it would/might be offensive, but i really think it isn't necessary. I'm not offended by it, i just don't think it should be in the game like that........it sounds like some 10 year-old came up with each taunt right after he learned a new curse word at school. That's my imput. Other than the taunt stuff, great job!

Thanks Coleman. The Taunts / localization were made to be offensive and
as you said shouldn't be in the game like that. IT WON"T! I need to have a combined effort by the community to make changes to all the taunts and commands. When the localization is completed-properly, i can start matching them with the audio that will be replaced as well. I made it that way hoping that someone would offer a better version, most players want to get a mod like this without spending the time to help with it.

Again there will be a partial and full install with the final product. That is why you can download the work in progress versions now. As far as new weapons that would only be available with the full version. New maps as well.

This is so you can play the same old maps in a new light. If Men of Valor comes out in 2004, you are going to want something new for MOHAA. Look at earlier replies on this post for more info. Enjoy

The final product depends on community support!

I tried all map , and most gun for sound.

I like that but i think you should give more your time on new map and new gun and feature .

For new map , i hope they will be simple as stock map . If new map are not popular its because they are too complicated . I think . Too many rooms , too big . Look how stock map are simple and very details in the same time.

I am agree with garycoleman , i don't like new taunts.
I think you should look at UT2003 taunts ...


If you want , i can create you "good" taunts .
This is the only things i can do when you ask community support because i am not a modder . Maybe you should ask all those hacker to do somethings good in mohaa .

Asking for new weapons is a bit pushing it. Everything else is doable, but this all depends on community support. This is a community project, so please pitch in. biggrin:

If you see any pics that are R-Rated you donot have texture compression off. If you are looking at the clock tower in Remagen and it is in stock form, you do not have texture compression disabled. The reason for this is due to not having as of yet an associated .dds file on those images. The .dds files will be made as the process evolves. I have just updated both versions. We are at Version 1.12. Many additions have been made, make sure you are at the newest version. Enjoy. If the church does not look as it is presented in the image below, you are using an older version.

Final Note...
 

If you are using the Pin-up version, you will have a different stained glass image.

I did indeed grab the fonts, and I run at 1024X768. I wasn't trying to get nasty, just to say your site is a bit hard to navigate. Using a complex image for a background mixed with fancy fonts makes it hard to look at. No menus at all, and some text is hyperlinked and some is not. The font alone is nearly impossible to read. There is a big difference between "normal", "common" and good design. And as for you "preparing my mind", you are right, you could never prepare me for the shock of that bad design.

I was thinking maybe the suggestions you were asking for included the site as well. With those development skills and a lack to accept constructive critisism, your mod may have a hard time. Maybe your time will be better spent brushing up on your Frontpage skills.

My intentions were for those like you to react and feel exactly as you do.
I don't get paid for your ability to like the site. If that were the case the site would be much different. I frankly don't care who likes the site, or who does not. Simply put if you don't like it, don't go there. If the font is hard to read get some glasses. The site is for the members of the DRT clan, untill one of them decide on sharing the same views that you have presented, the site will remain the way it is. You have done nothing but waste your time on a response to something that won't change. As far as skill is concerned you have shown nothing to me to prove your ability in doing anything other than cry. If you want to share opinion on something do it with EyeCandy where you have a chance in helping to change the way something is made. I'm not bashing you, or your opinions, I'm trying to make it clear that how you feal about the site is intentional, not due to my inabilities to make a (in your mind common) site.
