Winzip is much easier. just open it and when it asks what to open with, then select winzip and it will open. edit the files and when your done, select all the files you want and then right click and add to zip file. Name the file in the directory you want and end the filename with .pk3, make sure the filename starts with user- or a z becuase the game runs the files alphabetically.

Everyone has their own opinion. I like PakScape because it displays the PK3 files almost like Windows Explorer. Easy layout, and I find it works just as good as winzip for .PK3s

Ballistic_Spitfire 02-04-2003 06:32 PM

lol are you serious? You have to change the file-type at the bottom from .ZIP to .PK3. Could this be it?

pest 02-06-2003 08:57 AM

No offense, but if you cant get pakscape to work, you dont need to be in your pk3 files.

On a more helpful note, the modding theatre has a tutorial on this.

BTW: I will understand this :-P

hmm..... winzip.com winzip mucho easy, use it. just double click, or right click properties, open with winzip apply, then double click extract

Argon 02-07-2003 10:08 PM

ok once you open the Pk3 files how can you edit the tik files. I tried changing some of the values and it wouldn't let me change them. Do you copy and paste into a notepad, edit, then save as a tik file?

Mr_nStuff 02-11-2003 06:02 PM

pull it out, edit it, then re import it..

you should double click on the tik file and when prompt. select to open it with Wordpad.

Word up..
