DOD Vs. BF1942

I just had a MSN chat with a friend praising BF1942 and i tried to prove to him DoD was better

Well I would like to know what all you guys think is better...shitty BF1942, or the actually realistic DoD.

geRV 02-16-2003 06:09 PM

Hard to compare since they are 2 different styles of game. BF is more vehicle\arcade orientated whereas dod is more realism\proper fps orientated.

Slinky2397 02-16-2003 06:18 PM

DoD. No questions asked. BF42 is full of n00bs that kill each other over a plane, and end up blowing the plane up in the process. On DoD, people actually play together. DoD owns.

Day of Defeat! DUH!

Milla 02-16-2003 06:36 PM

As gerard said, WAY to hard to tell, two toally diffrent games

Whatada 02-16-2003 06:37 PM

But then, consider Desert Combat mod, which makes it better! biggrin:

desert combat mod?

GreenEggs&Pot 02-16-2003 08:13 PM

And then there's the small % of us who still play MOH...

02-16-2003 08:21 PM

what makes dod so realisitc? and how do u know if it's realy how the gun or vehicle works? i've never played it so i've onyl seen screenshots

Pyro 02-16-2003 10:06 PM

Really...BF1942 just sucks...thats the biggest point to grasp

DoD is teamwork based, which I like.

Milla 02-16-2003 10:09 PM

BF ownz you pyr0

Pyro 02-16-2003 10:11 PM

Cool Fool 02-16-2003 10:36 PM

So you took BF1942 and turned it into OFP? oOo:

Pyro 02-17-2003 01:29 AM

OFP is much better than BF1942...

02-17-2003 06:49 AM

you sir are an idiot. BF42 is all about teamwork IN THE PROPER ENVIRONMENT. stay away from EA servers and play on clan server like DOA or XBones, where they are strict and teamwork is used. yup a ton of smaktard plane camping n00bs on pubs servers. Desert Combat is alot of fun...its a modern warfare mod pitting the US vs Iraq...

Slinky2397 02-17-2003 04:47 PM

I don't think it's a matter of genres, just which you enjoy playing most.

intrestedviewer 02-17-2003 10:45 PM

A little off the subject but has anyone tried any of those texture mods for the game? If so are they any good?
biggrin: Have any of you guys tried crashing into a hanger in an airplane? You wont explode! you can go at top speed from a dive into the hanger and youll just bounce happy:

Pyro 02-17-2003 10:52 PM

Winters...understand...Bf sucks just face it

there are more idiots playing that then people who care about teamwork...and the people who care about teamwork, probably take the game WAY too seriouslly...like your MOHAA clan aM.

Cool Fool 02-18-2003 02:01 AM

the game that uses the most teamwork i'd have to say is the HL mod Natural Selection

Old Reliable 02-18-2003 02:05 AM

id have to say twister

Bazooka_Joe 02-18-2003 12:23 PM

These games are nothing alike. Only the fact that you choose classes, and have to obtain flags. Otherwise, the grapics, sound, gameplay, and vechiles are totally different. IMO, I love BF1942.

Bartlett 02-18-2003 02:47 PM

Day of Defeat kicks ass, BF1942 does not
