since badscript cannot even perform the simple task of PRUNING THE FUCKING FORUM every time a post is edited the forum crashes

Strik0r, if I could fix it, I would, but I'm not the site admin around here. It's still possible to crash the forums, rather easily too, I just don't want to go into detail on how.

yes yes we know, sending a pm or even simply posting crashes it multiple times per day. my point was badscript should be able to do something that simple. i wouldn't want you to, considering you'd probably ban everyone in the process.

You could allways ask for help.

Klink: It's a phpBB error. Hopefully they can correct it in newer versions to come.

Lone: Wingman decided to stop because he wasn't around the forums as much as he wanted to be. As for Dodd, we went over his problem about 3 times in the last two weeks; he had to leave to support his father, whom had a bad accident.

Well we need some different mods around here then. Badscript is never alive. I want an edit button and the database clearned up. It can't be that hard to do. If we got a mod in here that would trust strik0r just for a second everything could be fixed and we would have a working edit button. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! We have to sit around in the dark and bitch cuz badscript won't do anything to help us.

Strik0r isn't the only one who knows how to fix this. Myself, Rudedog, and Wookie all know how to do it, it's just that none of us have permissive control to the phpNUKE database, only to the phpBB forums.

Umm.. .no it's not that simple. It would take longer to do that, then it would to just reindex & optimize the database, remove dead posts, and inactive members.

What program? BadScript would have to remove them by hand, there's no program that removes them. It wouldn't take long if you had admin rights though.

Actually, I am quite sure I can do everything possible to this site, everything that BS can do anyway, which is basically everything. The reason why I dont ?? Because it's not my site. I am an Admin remember. wink: Just one that wont do anything with permission. Unfortunately, getting that permission is almost impossible.

Strik0r, I doubt you know what your talking about because if Wookie really does have Admin privs, he could go look at the config file through FTP and get the password.

All this BS about phpbb being full of bugs is pure shit. Its simply that BadScript let the forums get out of hand. Strikor is right in that BadScript needs to clean up the database (optimize, drop sessions, clean tables), but this forum theme is 90% of the problem. After running phpbb and this theme a while back, I saw that the creator (Venor) used querys that colided, which explains why the edit adds information into two tables, making the database unstable. My suggestion is to remove all older posts, and switch to a decent php board, like vbulletin.
