New Weapon Model I Renedered *CRITS PLZ*
Hey guys, I was brushing up my skillz today when I got home from school, on modeling. Well after about what 4 hours almost? I finally finished the M4A1 with tactical kobra scope. I would love some crits, but don't go to harsh lol, I been sick and I need to have something make me feel better heh....ENJOY!

the gun is great. finish it quick so we can down load it. on thing thou is that the bend in the clip is a little off from being rounded and more like a jaged bend but that's the only thing that you might want to look at fire1: M16:

Very nice bro. Only complaint I would have is the scope site; the mounting bracket is not really defined all that well in shape. I'll see if I can find you a pic to base it on, and show you what I mean.

1) in MP which weapon will it replace? 2) in MP can all the playes see it? if they do not have force models on? ive never used a gun skin b4. 3) where the hell do i put it? ive never used a gun skin b4 do i use it just like a guts mod? or a character skin? plz help and yes i agree make the scope a little more rounded and the clip looks a little jagged, also not all 3 of the ingraves on the clip are even. Are you going to put the ridges on the barrel? like th1 m16A2 and traditional m4's? good job! next we need you to replace the BAR skin with a M209SAW! |

The guns handle and ammo clip needs more work.
looks pieced together from many blocks I will agree, the scope mounting needs more work. 2000 polys!!! I think its higher then that. No matter if you THINK you have "skillz", the issue is that model can not be used for the simple fact of- The poly count is too high, and was built incorrectly. |
RUNGSI since you dont model I dont want your advise cuz you don't even know how I modeled it. I modeled it out of 1 box. I did not add any boxes. Its called working and extruding what you need to work with. I used 3 parts, 1 box the main weapon that is from butt to the barral. I added a EXTRA box for the front sight, and a EXTRA tube for the hider on the barral. The poly count is 1941. If you dont know how to model please dont try to put your 2 cents in about one trying to tell me how to do my job.
I have a pro wanting my help on some of his jobs for his movie he is making, and I think I will believe him when he says I model the correct way, seeing he taught me some of my modeling techiques. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rest of you: Thanks! I am not totally finished. I still have to model the rest of the right side and put the detail into it, such as the safty, the clip release. As for the mount, I know, its not finished, I still have to drill the holes so to speak, and plug it with the screws. And what does the fact that he doesn't know what process you went through with the program have to do with anything? You asked for criticism. He's a member of the target audience. This is a standard fact with graphic artists. People don't know how the Final Fantasy Movie was done. They don't care either. They want to see a good movie- and that's what they'll pay for. If he doesn't model, that should make his advice even more valuable to you. The models in Allied Assault are not for modlers- they are for the general public that want to play a game... that has decent, if not excellent models and graphics. I just started playing MOH again a few days ago, and came here for the Blood patch and following models got here. Your hypocrisy, in short 'ruffled my fur' so to speak. So I jumped in. I [I]had[I] planned to ask you what program you were using... until I saw your post. Believe what you will, I bet you didn't even actually read my post through- oh, and a tip- you just might want to deflate that ego a tad. By the way, you might want to mention what I thought and Rungsi was pointing out (I may be just starting to get into modeling) but as I recall, 1964 or whatever amount of polys your model is, is just a tad bit high to use in MOH. I don't know what the number is for MOH, but for halflife 900 polys or so was considered to be [B}quite[/B] high, and I believe if you delete the right side of the rifle that would not be seen in MOH's HUD view, the poly count should drop enough to make the gun worthwile. nice job dude. make a total conversion im up for it even though all i do is skin but im getting better i was thinking os a socom sort of total conversion. you should make the M4A1 SD now same gun but add the silencer.
im making a allied_101st_afghanistan skin cool: not dont yet but the gun will definetly look SWEET with it. (as you know hopefully. the 101st airborne is in afghanistan right now looking for some F*KER (i think you know his name) and i am skinning them) |

Pants look a lttle bulky, but w/e, and dude that gun looks crazy-cool and rungsi is right, 1964 or whatever does sound a little high... even though i wouldnt really know, but you could delete the other side to drop that count in half... just my 2 cents... peace out all swordfight:

that gun would be nice on that skin but in all honosty i was doing some serfing on the net and did find out that 2000 is a little high unless you have a pentium 3 or 4 ao the atholon equvilent and a geforce 3 ,4, fx or ATI equivlent

in all actuallity poly count means notthing unless it is in progress to be used in a game. This is a normal high poly weapon that would be used for movies and such. I only modeled it for fun, my next model is for my mod Enemy at the Gates. I am working on an SVT rifle.

Very nice Captain! *G* The skin still needs work, but it's most likely already more than I could do :)
There's only three things I'd like to point out, and you probably already know of them... First off, starting at the top would be where the...camoflauge vest? covers the white long sleeved shirt. It runs right into the white shirt, and flat. I don't know too much of the models for MoH, but do they support bump maps? Perhaps one would give you the 'delpth' that would be required? Second is the handle of the shovel...I don't know if it's the picture, but it appears that part of the pant texture has been applied to the shovel's handle. Should be just a few tweaks away from perfection in that area though *G* :) Finally, is the legs... it looks almost like he's wearing hockey equipment under his pants, the way it's much larger down to his knees... but that's probably the model...
