na..the xbox has a better spec than the ps2 but ps2 rules the xbox..i have all three ps2 xbox and gamecube which is also a nice peice of kit...check net for upcomin ps3 with the new nvidia based chip runnin at 4 gig...wohoo now for a console thats the daddy..xbox only runs at 733 with its pentium 3

give xbox a few more months, and it WILL rule the world. Xbox live kick ass (obviously bwecause ps2 is now trying to imitate it) and i love my xbox.

I've got all 3. The PS2 overall is ahead of the other 2 consoles(XBOX, Gamecube). I only got the Gamecube because they have Resident Evil. All the great games for XBOX are also coming out on PC. Just picked up Metal Gear Solid Substance for PS2. . .SPECTACULAR! biggrin:

I think the PS2 is the best overall. Xbox doesn't have many good games...There's only about 3 that I would like, that I couldn't get on another console or on PC.

No it aint. I played the Splinter cell for PC. The control for the x-boxis much better. Makes it so much more fluid. So easy to control what and to what extent you are doing stuff. If you guys want to talk about what console has what games. I must say that Vice City is th eonly ps2 game worth a damn. Oh and that too is coming for PC. No one can argue that the consoles will ever rule the PC. But to say that the PS2 has more life left in it than the x-box is just plain silly. I hear Sony is really trying to rush the new PS out the door. Lets hope they don't screw that up. I also read about a new console in a few years. Never found out the deal on that. Anyone know the new console?

I would say X-Box is better than PS2 even though i dont own either. PS2 already cant keep up with the X-Box graphics and plus you add in X-Box live.

PS2 will always reign as the supreme next gen console. Same way PS1 destroyed Nintendo last generation.

Keep in mind the ps2 has a huge fan base from the ps1, who rushed out to buy it, plus games developers were familiar with the ways of the ps1 that it was easier to convert to making ps2 games.

There are not a lot of good games out for the xbox, but the ones they do have are groundbreakers. I personally cant wait for project ego or whatever it was renamed to, comes out.
I bought a ps2 last week for vice city, which was well worth it. The ps2 will have online capabilities summer this year for the UK, and then a 40gb hard disc is going on sale at the end of the year. So things are looking good for the ps2.
Xbox is never going to be a pc because it ISNT a fucking pc, this is CONSOLE war not a "PC pwnz joo" thing.

I love my xbox as many pc games will be out on it soon such as operation flashpoint and mafia, which i own on pc but cant be played to their full potential due to my low system specs.

I love my ps2 for the vast range of games available to date.

Who honestly gives a shit which is better? dont be a fanboy, appreciate them all for what they offer.

Have not played it yet. Still finishing other games. Based on the demo I played, it's awesome. They have billed it as the Metal Gear Solid killer. I'm not ready to go that far. . .yet. I'm sure Ubisoft plans to make Splinter Cell a franchise just like Metal Gear Solid.

Personally I think in the near future the tide will turn in favor of X-Box simply because it's a better console (Right now PS2 has a slight lead simply due to the amount and quality of games avadible) X-Box will have it's year and half of fame or however long it takes them to make the PS3.

On a separtate note, you think Gates will find a way to incorparate the X-Box into other Microsoft Products like MSN, etc?

I think X-Box will end up like Dreamcast, really. It looked promising at first, but ended up scrapped even by the developers. Same happened to Sega Saturn.

Linux. No microsoft products ANYWHERE on that machine.

But i'm afraid to say that my other PC has windows on it because i have to play AA.............. and i cant really get it working on Linux. But i only use that computer to play AA and that is all. I havent even got office or that evil shit on there. So cram it.

HAhA, oh come on....I had a Saturn at one point wink: haha, it was cool....I used to listen to metallica with the cd player on it, and it had all these options to mess with the track...soooo cool biggrin:

PS2 owns XBox and at the moment it is rapping PC too. Sure the XBox can provide the player with some nice graphics but it doesn't have the games to back it up. Same thing goes with PC at moment. There hasn't been a huge hit on PC since Half-Life!!

don't think so, as long as there are PC games PC owns all. PCs are more upgradeable and have more utility than consoles will ever have.

Is the X-Box upgradeable? I mean, isn't it a PC in a box? It's sopposed to run a P3 500 Mhz processor, I think.

You can say that, but the price for a full upgrade is often more then the cost to buy three new systems! And you need to upgrade your PC about every 3 years so that is like the same as an entire generation of a console war! ... but don't get me wrong I love my PC, I just think the industry is more concerned with profit over giving people what they want. Now I'll admit the consoles have been seeing some of this recently but not at the same level as PC. I mean look at Spearhead!! That could have been like 5 updates over the coruse of six months; but EA made it an Ex. Pack and now they are doing it again! .... oOo:

X-box won't end up like Dreamcast. Becaus eof the fact that x-box is actually selling. And that the company is the richest in the industry, I doubt they will leave the console war anytime soon, not after they have created that great thing. I know Microsoft will be in it for the long run, and not only that, when time comes they will come out with a new system, but they won't rush their shit like PS3.
