White Rabbit 03-17-2003 02:07 PM

Zap. USMC 03-17-2003 02:08 PM

British are in.

Sgt. Pepper. 03-17-2003 02:23 PM

No not the same as France. Canada doesn't vote on the security council. I guess the question would be would they vote yes or no.

Eh? The main powers we have are Britian, Spain and Australia. The smaller countries are some in the middle east. (IE Pakistan)

descry 03-17-2003 02:39 PM

Theres no reason for Canada to go to war with Iraq. The US of A can do it alone, they have enough military.
Canada doesnt have enough money to go to war, were focusing making our dollar worth a hell of alot more than it is.

Vance 03-17-2003 02:40 PM

What is it worth now?

descry 03-17-2003 02:40 PM

practically nothing

Old Reliable 03-17-2003 03:28 PM

its on the decline big time, the dollar is pretty strong these days against the euro too

White Rabbit 03-17-2003 03:30 PM

canada has nothing to gain from a wat w/ iraq

descry 03-17-2003 03:40 PM

The war is kinda good for Canada because the US dollar will go down big time. Bush is fucking up your economy.

1080jibber 03-17-2003 06:16 PM

• CANADA NOT WILLING: During a session of Canada's Parliament on Monday, Prime Minister Jean Chretien said, "If military action [in Iraq] is launched without a new [U.N.] resolution, Canada will not participate. We will hope there will be no war. I'm not very optimistic." Canada has about 30 armed forces personnel serving with U.S. and British contingents in the Persian Gulf and has contributed two warships to a naval force stationed in the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf. Chretien did not respond when asked whether the forces in the gulf region would be withdrawn, Reuters reported.

good, if I were canada I would not get involved in this mess. although if there are going to be great profits in Iraq, canada will lose out. oh well, better to have lives than money

Actually the markets are doing very well - 3%+ today alone. Historicly they they go up significantly once war starts.

Recycled Spooge 03-17-2003 09:34 PM

Yeah, Canada doesn't like being blown up by terrorists.

Sgt>Stackem 03-17-2003 09:35 PM

If our economy goes in the bucket for a few years its worth the price we pay fpr freedom. if I have to sacrifice like my grand-father did for the better of the world it is morre than worth it. Look to the future not to tomorrow.

Pyro 03-17-2003 09:41 PM

The future is fine for us up here it seems...and no terriorist attacks or wars to fight

Life is good.

BallisticWookie 03-17-2003 09:57 PM

[quote="Recycled Spooge":98a15]Yeah, Canada doesn't like being blown up by terrorists.[/quote:98a15]

Yet they allow Iraqi Intelligence operatives to work freely in their country...not to mention a whole slew of other undesirables.

Yeah... like them dirty Jews and the Slavs and the Mexicans. I'm sorry, I just can't take the term "undesirables" seriously. ;)

i was goina post maybe some day you guys will need help and i could post the same as you. but i wouldnt have the chance. if you guys needed help i know we would be there for you guys. one more thought. NOBODYS GLAD TO GO TO WAR. like it says under my sig. wars are fought by scared men who would rather be someplace else.

redhawk_six 03-17-2003 11:32 PM

It's not nessicerly that we don't want to go to war (which we really don't, but I'm trying to make a point, so, yeah) but we Can't. We've sent more troops to Afghanastan and don't have the free military resources to contribute to a war in Iraq. Maybe if the stupid politicians back east would use some common sense and raise the military budget, we could, but I doubt that will be happening anytime soon. hake:

The dollar falling is inconsequential. The dollar always fluctuates then rebounds. That is just international economics. The dollar always comes out on top. The whole global economy is getting hit by this recession.

pest 03-18-2003 07:42 AM

The markets went up 3.5% yesterday. Expect more of the same today. The bottom fell out of oil futures. Venezuela is shipping oil again. Expect gas prices to drop.

Is the dollar strong or weak? Who cares? If it is strong, great. If it is weak, then we export more based on favorable conditions for the buyers. It is still worth a dollar in the US.

War does good things to the economy.

The US is not going to take a financial beating because of this.

A HUNGRY FATMAN 03-18-2003 07:43 AM

i dont know the euro has been growing more power full every day and will surpass the dollor

A HUNGRY FATMAN 03-18-2003 07:46 AM

if bush keeps inflating the dollor it will pop and down it will go right next to the value of the cuban dollor
