Yahoo! or Google work well when you give them the proper search terms... biggrin:

I'm in your same sortof position mate...

But I got Lessons many years ago, forgot it all...

Then dusted it off once and went, shit, Guitar... oOo:

If I were you I'd just get one of those "Learn Guitar for Beginners" books, with the CD's and just go from there...

Make sure it's got a big list of all the chords at the back, so you can look up your favourite songs on the net and play them!

At the moment "I Hear Joo Calling!" by Gob is on my playlist...

*Sniff* Brings back fond memories of Millah and Sloi...

If your a n00b and need tabs, this is one of the best resources. kinda laggy, but its worth it.

Captain Bunny 04-05-2003 08:54 PM

http://www.guitarnotes.com is a good place for lessons and tab.

best way though is just to pick up the guitar, stick on a song, and play along to it.

Haha, it didn't take me any longer to load :P

Ydiss 04-06-2003 09:37 AM

I tought myself to play by buying magazines with demo CDs on them and tabs to my favourite bands.

Of course then I wasn't online hehe.

Good luck with it, once you've gotten past the first few weeks of "God, my fingers hurt and I can't change from an F to a C without taking 3 minutes!" stage it's all really much easier than you'd imagine.

Although I never bothered to learn pents and scales, I'm mostly just a rythmn player. Pity I don't have time to learn it anymore.

Unknown_Sniper 04-06-2003 09:55 PM

I use http://www.tabcrawler.com
http://www.punkhardcore.com
http://www.olga.net (use as a last resort)
Thast all you need.

What type of guitar you have?

Zoner 04-07-2003 10:41 AM

Rock on, man. Learning to play guitar is kinda frustrating at first, but is very rewarding in the long run.

I don't have any other links that haven't been posted here. biggrin:

MrLevinstein 04-07-2003 07:26 PM

What's a good electric guitar (solid) that is good for a beginnner and in the $200 and under range. Amp too?

MrLevinstein 04-08-2003 06:44 AM

anyone? Zoner?

SteelmassacrE 04-12-2003 02:32 PM

you can get an ibanex guitar for under 200 dollars i think you only need a small amp at the moment a 10-20 watt amp shud be enough that would cost about 50-100 dollars, just goto your local guitar shop and look around there, if you are playing heavy metal, or metal in general a good guitar would be a guitar with humbucker pick-ups, these pickups are just 2 pickups in one which makes it sound heavier and thicker, if you are playing rock n roll or the blues a squire stratocaster will be in the price range of 100-150 dollars which leaves you money left over, hoped this helped. also a good guitar site is http://www.wholenote.com .

Thanks man it gave me a general idea.

SteelmassacrE 04-12-2003 02:45 PM

it should say ibanez not ibanex lol oOo:
