BASIC: NEW MOVIE...Watch if you want to get pissed...
 

Ok - so I'm reading the review for "BASIC" which is a new movie starring John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson, and the reviewer is Roger Ebert. In it he says the movie is well acted, and well lighted, great mood and all that shit. He also says the movie is VERY frustrating, and that you hardly know whats going on, and the end will have you wanting to get your money back.

The fat fuck was right.

Througout the movie - it's fucking good. Really good. There ARE alot of twists and turns, and alot of "who the fuck is lying and who is telling the truth". But while you are watching it all, you ARE waiting for the INEVITABLE end that ties everything together and makes everything make sense. You get it - but in a way that has you sooooo very pissed off that you want to beat the shit out of the director.

Anywho - I'm not going to fuck up the ending to this movie cause even though that IS my style, this movie needs to be seen to believe.

Duly noted. I'll download the VCD to save 12$ and a lot of frustration...

I burned it on a quick VCD and watched it with some friends. The one I got was kinda dark - but then the whole thing takes place at night.

And I'd fuck CONNIE NELSON in a heartbeat.

dam soli movies are expensive to go see where you live, here its only 7 dollars and in dallas it was like 5

Well, people don't go see as many movies. Most notably, because Hollywood
keeps releasing CRAP. The theaters UP the prices and people get seriously
turned off and go even less. Guess what ? The prices were JACKED again! What
can we do ? Download the fukn' movies.

I thought it was acutally pretty good. It had a good twist to it, and I didn't know the exact story to the end, which is good.

A few disappointments were the ending, and how it wasn't "Military Correct." For instance, SGT West, AKA Samuel L. Jackson, introduces him to the trainees at the Rangers camp as a Seargent, but he's wearing Specialist pins, WTF?!? And the HMMVUE's they were driving in were super-quiet! heh

Yeah, but the movie theaters aren't at fault, they get a very, very small percentage of the money from the movie, that's why they raise ticket prices and refreshment prices so much. I can't remember how much they get from the movie, but it is definetly well under 10% from what I remember, i think 3% sounds right, but i dunno

yeah, they make more money on candy and shit. 5 dollars for a small box of Sweetarts? FUCK YOU!

I gave up going to the movies unless you really need to see it on the big screen like "Pearl Harbor". Before i go, i eat something beforehand then I bring a bag of sunflower seeds with me. I'll walk in with a cup of soda (double cupped) and use the empty one to spit the shells into. Screw them and their ridiculous vending prices.

only movie I'll even consider seeing in the thetres (unless it's a group thing with friends) is Matrix: reloaded...and maybe Phone booth since my friend liked it...though i'll prolly just dl it.

It actually looks really really cool. Ive been watning to see it forever.

Buckweed saw it (the firend i'm refering to) and he liked it alot.

I saw it. Yeah i know this might sound dumb, but there was too much thinking involved. As soon as the black/white thing happened i just lost hope in the movie, wasn't it obvious the dude was white?? I think i've said too much. The ending was pretty cool.

when i saw the comercial for phone boot i knew who the sniepr was already. they announced the name of the 3 main charcters. and one of them they never showed his image in the comercial so it's obviusly that guy which i'm not gonna saw because maybe someone hasnt payed attention to the comercial

The identity of the sniper isn't some huge plot point. We know who it is. If you cant recognize Keifer Sutherlands voice - wow. As to WHO he is in the movie...thats interesting too.

This chick from playboy was on Howard Stern this morning talking about how she was with Colin Farrel, and that he smokes and drinks like a fish, and how he was great in the sack, blah blah blah. . . She said overall he's very charming, even though when he has interviews he sounds like a dick.

I'd see both. The ending to BASIC just kicks you in the balls and makes you feel like you're a big time sucker. But if you leave as soon as it all "ends" - and skip the "other end" - you've got yourself a damn fine movie.

Did you see it in the theatre or download it. The copy I got was dark as all hell, but then the movie WAS set at night. But I went back and took a look at the trialer (which had a TON of shit in it that wasn't in the movie), and man....I definately have gotta see this movie on DVD or from a clearer source.

Theatre. it sucked though, because the theatre wasn't full-sized, so some of the text and stuff was cutoff on the right side, along with some characters. Either way, it still was good.
