I keep hearing you get certain medals for doing certain stuff in SP (like a Purple Heart or Medal of Honor depending on how you play the mission), but I've only heard this in a few places (previews) scattered about the net....

If this is true, do they open anything new? Or are they just for looks?

I would like to see a screenshot of these... I haven't won anything.

I'm pretty sure that you get medals for completing a mission.

And even if there is a secret weapon or level, expect some hackers to find it 1 day after the release.

thats basically out of the picture since 2015 is against single player german missions.

I heard that at the end of 1 year, if you have all the medals, you can notify 2015 and they will send you an official document certifying that you have no life!

Open the Pak1.pk3 file in the SP demo, click on textures folder, click on mohmenu folder and you will see three files!
The first one is the Medal case.
The second one is the lining for inside the case with can hold 8 medals! it looks just the same as the medal case in the other MOH games for the PSX!
The third .tga file is the medals file. BUT if you open it, it is only a white pic!

That's pretty complicated. In the main menu, click on the load/save button. Then there's going to be a brown medal case. Click on it.

And I know you can't play as the Germans...I was just throwing out a possibility.

Pure gimmic stuff but still I like to have them in war games, it gives it you a sense of satisfaction if you did well in a mission.

I'm just wondering how it'll work....I guess like how the awards in MP for Perfect Dark and GoldenEye...so if you die, you get a medal for risking your life for someone else? Say...the Medal of Honor?

well, in the ps games you get one medal after you beat a campaigne, if get youget all the medals that includes beating the game in all difficulties u get bonus stuff, probably a bonus level of a bonus weapon? (m1 carbine?)

I use winrar! But you can use winzip!

winrar is (IMHO) a lot easier to use than winzip for these .pk3 files!

Guarteed all the medals are American! obviously right becasue this game is called "American Assault" Am I not correct or am i in a totally different game forum? can anyone tell me where I can find " Medal Of honor: Allied assault" forums?

They might unlock a level with the shotgun..

I can understand you wishing for a more "allied" approach than just american, but keep in mind the main character is a member of the 2nd Rangers. However, it's quite possible he could be awarded the Crox De Gurre or the Victoria Cross. Patton and Audie Murphy both won those medals, didn't they?

As far as I know Patton didn't win a VC, from what I can remember from my personal study of VC recipients it's only available for decoration of soldiers from nations that are part of the Commonwealth. ie Britain, Canada, Australia, NZ etc... He may have won a D.S.O. (Distinguished Service Order) these have been handed out to folks from other nations, it's one step below the VC in terms of prestige.

I'm pretty sure Audie was given the Legion of Honor from France as well.

American medals can only be given to Americans, and Commenwealth medals were only given to countries part of the Commonwealth. However there have been exceptions, but very few. Most were from WW1.
