Looney Toons

OK, just relived childhood memories by watching a Looney Toons episode on TV. Now, I don't think I've laughed so damn hard in quite some time. I usually get giggles from Family Guy and The Simpsons but this had me in stiches.

Had Daffy Duck and Speedy Gonzalez(sp?) in forts acrosss from each other. Daffy get his arse kicked by Speedy. Funny shit.

Strange how these old cartoons can still entertain years later. How about you guys?

Zoner 04-14-2003 10:41 AM

Looney Toons pwnz. I grew up on that stuff.

ABC hadda go and ruin all the fun tho by censoring the toons. All the Speedy Gonzalez toons were axed because they thought it was stereotyping mexicans, roadrunner toons had WAY less violence (if you wanna call it violence), plus a lot more cuts. The only place to get real looney toons now is on the cartoon network (Teletoon here in Canada).

ABC, You'rrrrrrrre dispicable. biggrin:

looney toon arnt meant for kids, too much sexuality and adult language

04-14-2003 10:59 AM

damn right looney toons are funny.

I still watch whenever I can (usually in the summer because they show them around noon)

Also did anyone catch the "toonheads" wartime cartoons special?
I almost died laughing at "Herr meets Hare", when Goering is talking about Hitler behind his back and Bugs comes in wearing a Hitler disgguise biggrin:

Looney Toones are great but I find it very strange how Bugs Bunny loves to dress up as a woman so much. hake:

I still like them better, than Walt Disney.

Disney's later cartoons (like Talespin) are better than the early ones, IMO. (but then again I'm just a "propellerhead")

Cartoons are great at any age.. I'm looking for the one with bugs and the grimlins.. where he is flying the b-17 it looks like and it is flying straight down...

Oddball 04-14-2003 11:19 AM

When I was a kid I never look at Looney Toons as violent, cos everyone knows cartoons CAN'T DIE OR BE HURT! Unwritten law of TV it is.

why can't we bomb them instead of Iraq?
they are a greater threat to stability in the US.

Put on an island in the south Pacific and let the French nuke them, it'll make 'em feel better for one.

i have that one on video.

then right before they hit the ground the plane splutters to a halt and bugs says.

"what do you know, ran out of gas" biggrin:

my dad loves the road runner cartoons

and i loved when they made things like military documentaries.

and here we see the pride of the RAF fighters, the spitfire.....and a little plane flies past, spitting.....

gotta love those toons.

i love the ones where bugs hosts the oscars.

Hollywood 04-15-2003 11:17 AM

LMFAO!!! now THAT was a quality toon moment.

I appreciate toons more these days as i understand the "adult" humour and grown ups jokes in each cartoon.
subtle yet hilarious.
