US might use the Euro?
 

I was just watching the enws, and some guys were talking about how the US might convert over to using the euro and get rid of the dollar, because the dollar value is so low. They think that by using the Euro that it would increase standards of living and fix alot of money problems we got now.

What do you guys think about this?

i think if that happened it couldnt be called the euro anymore as it would be defeating the purpose.

It will never happen. American public would pride themselves on the $ anyway, much as britian has down with the £.

lmao I can tell you right now that it's not going to happen.

The EURO is only worth about 8 cents more than the dollar.

And converting to the EURO isn't going to descrease anyones problems. Economics doesn't work like that. The value of the dollar is based on the total amount of worth of the united states.

It's hard to explain in simple terms, but as long as the two governments are seperate this wouldn't happen.

Pure speculation and imho it's the worst idea since Mr Hitler suggested to Mrs Hitler that they go upstairs and have some boom boom.

Circulating new bills is hard enough, let alone changing the whole entire currency.

thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. Why would the united states give up its monetary system, arguably the best and most stable in the world. Our money makes a lot of the world's economies and industry work, it sounds pretentious, but its true. We would not simply abondon our 200+ year old currency for a year old european euro.

A lot of schools have copnverted to the metric system, mine included. Every thing is measured in centimeters and stuff. Wasnt it actually passed that we would convert to metric and then something fucked it up though?

A lot of car manufacturers build their cars in metric, but I don't think we will ever see signs like

Kilgore: 12 km

PS. Euro's are crap......enven though you can use them withing EU (European Union) it's still a friggin diffirence when you go to other countries.
Let's say that Eminems new album costs 20 euro's in Sweden, but then when you go to germany the same album costs 24 Euro's. So the euro is sort of without purpose to me oOo:

every country has different pricing regions. if you go to california, most everything is going to be marginally more expensive than say, north carolina

I think the guys they interviewed were stoned.

Changing the currency will do nothing for the economy. At least not how they present it. If the dollar is weak, it will buy less euros when converted. There is no free lunch and you cant just magically create wealth by changing a bill. Currency values naturally fluctuate based on supply and demand, markets, economy, etc.

Are you sure this was on the news? There are so many things wrong with this assumption that I dont even know where to start.
