Skydiving!!!
Well, all this interest in the 101st Airborne has made me want to try my first skydive this summer. Has anyone done it? and if so, what was it like?
|
I did, but my chute didnt open,so i pummeled to the ground. Of course, that was in my past life. So my opinion, yes, go skydiving, maybe you'll die oOo:
Of course I was kidding about you dieing biggrin: |
Give it a whirl.
|
well if in the late summer you guys don't hear from me anymore, you'll know what's happened.... angel:
|
I've never gone skydiving but my cousin did and said he is never doing it again...ever eek:
|
watch a friend or go down to your local skidiving place and watch other people do it first before you go!
i wanted to do the same thing but once i whent down there and watched a friend do it ( from when he got on the plane to when he came all the way down) i was like NO WAY AM I DOING THAT its easy to say your going to do it but once ya see it happen, thats when you will know if ya want to do it, because if your stoked about it once you see it up close, thats when you know you want to do it just watch some one do it first (not on the tv too) |
before you do it, make sure you know the risks. Your chute doesnt open, your basically dead. So just make sure you know what you're doing and all the risks before you jump out of that plane

no shit eh |
First, I suggest you COMPLETELY research the group that gives the lessons and jump time. Some fucks out there are pretty into it, but are unsafe as hell. I've done it a few times, and I can say, even after getting my jump wings, doing a freefall from a plane at 10,000 ft is A LOT different than jumping out of the ass end of a c-141, at 1250. Scared the shit out of me. Then I went back and about creamed my pants. cool:
|
I've done it once. It was a blast. Slagg is right, make sure you go with a group that puts safety first. Some guys are nuts. I recommend dong a tandem jump the first time. You will be strapped together with an instructor. You will be able to enjoy it more and not have to worry so much the first time. We did a couple of hours of training before the jump and I basically had to remember three things. When they openned the door at 12,000 ft, I forgot two of my three things. Hell of a rush. The video they shot is pretty durn funny too.

Ive always wanted to do it and it sounds really fun. My sister has skydived before and she said it was really fun. She said she would do it again if she had the money.
|
I want to go too!!!...Too bad you gotta be 18 and have to pay a rediculous amount of $$$$$$$$$$$$$
|
I did it once on a dare. We jumped Static lined? Jump out, shoot opens, float down. Like you see in the army movies. It was a blast. Of course I will never do it again
|
I did cliff jumping and bungee jumping, it is an absolute rush; better than sex or getting high. I might try skydiving if I have some cash leftover and I know the group I'll be jumping with is reputable and safe.

I've done a military PRF jump. Meaning, I used the jumptower at fort benning, GA, then did a real jump at 1500 feet from a AC-130. It was. . .an expirence, heh
I'll be honest, the drill seargent had to kick my ass out the door . .but I still did it! And landed in the marked area too. biggrin: |

Ive got a sky diving joke....Its a little gay but what the hell
A young soldier soon after basic training deicded to go to jump school. He learned all the techniques and was all prepared to jump, while in the door way he froze with fear. He told his dad " I was scared out of my pants the instructor (a 6'5 250 pound large man) said "If you dont get your ass out that door I'm gonna put my c0k in your ass, I'll give you to the count of 3" He tried shoving the young soldier out the door and it didnt work. "Well son, did you jump?" his mom asked. "Yeah but only a little at first" LMAO, dont flame me i thought it was pretty funny. |

In a way, it's alot like the parachute jump at Great Adventure, but ALOT more freefall. The live jump was only about 15 seconds. You go so fast, your guts go into your lungs! hehe |

my dad had to jump when he was in the military during Vietnam. He said it scared the shit outta him, even in peacetime. he was the 2nd guy in the stick, since they ordered them by height, with biggest in front. My dad was the tallest man in the company, while the captain was smaller but in front because, well, he was a captain oOo: . But he said it was an expierence and i think he broke his leg or something on a jump...i forget, i should ask him
|
If it went by the person whjo weight most to the person who weighed least, my ass would be one of the last people to jump biggrin:
|
I want to go to Airborne school when I get into the military, I aint afraid of heights happy:
