Rhetorical Question

If someone knocked on your door and asked you if you wanted to join their cause in ridding the "evil" in your city/town (drug dealers, gangsters, murderers, rapists, etc.) under the guidance of God, would you join them?

wintersforge 04-18-2003 02:19 PM

Which God? Odin? And how would the evil be vanquished? With Miller Light catfight ads? If i was going to make an educated response (which i hope to this point i havent), then i need to know these things.... oOo:

Totenkopf 04-18-2003 02:20 PM

"Under the guidance of God"? Woah, no thanks man.

Innoxx 04-18-2003 02:22 PM

Christian god, and you would rid them with extreme prejudice.

Totenkopf 04-18-2003 02:26 PM

The Spanish Inquisition was under the "guidance of God". Burning witches was under the "guidance of God".

That is possibly the scariest phrase I have ever heard the more I think about it.

Unknown_Sniper 04-18-2003 02:36 PM

IF anyone comes to my house and utters the word god I slam the door in their face. But ridding my street of evil hmmmm.....Everyone one on my street is 50+ excluding me and my bro

If you speak of vigilant justice under a "Christian God" with extreme prejudice then no.

Innoxx 04-18-2003 03:59 PM

I basically asked myself this question after I watched Boondock Saints. Is vigilantism ok if the intentions are good?

Bazooka_Joe 04-18-2003 03:59 PM

Aren't those the born again christians that come to my house all the time? I don't answer the door anymore when they come.

Innoxx 04-18-2003 04:01 PM

I answered the door naked....... they never came back after that.

LMAO!!!!!*opens door* ah the light its too bright!run away!

Captain Bunny 04-18-2003 04:04 PM

I would be all for ridding the streets of evil, but if they mentioned god i would have to kill them too, as i think the people who go knocking at doors spreading the word of god, are evil too. well maybe not evil, but deserving of a severe kicking in.

Uh, no. Drug dealers are providing a service, gangsters are my friends and
the murderers/rapists can be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. No need to
bring God into this. Besides, we'll never have a Utopian society so forget it...

Magnum 04-18-2003 04:43 PM

Like a Jehova's Witness or Mormon? Boot those fuckers.

04-18-2003 04:53 PM

my street has no evil on it, except for this person across the street my sister and I hate, they always looka at uis weirdly...She's weird also, the bus to pick her up for her daughter (16 years old) stop right by their house, and she has to DRIVE her daughter to the bus stop. Its practically 50 yards away oOo:

04-18-2003 05:07 PM

LMAO. And isn't that what the KKK always says? Since they are chirstian, and they beleive in a good community.

Ferich 04-18-2003 05:53 PM

The KKK doesn't even do anything. They just shoot random black and jewish people. When does the Genocide start?

And they're making a new Boondock Saints...which should be even more dumb and unrealistic as the first.

04-18-2003 06:10 PM

If you could rid your neighborhood of evil. Why would it matter if god were involved or not. The end result would be the same. I would only help if i got to do most of the shooting. Sittin in the bushes 3 blocks away and puttin a round in a drug dealers ear would give me great pleasure.I could justify it by calling it gods work.Im thinking 22/250. very fast and acrurate bullet. Plenty of power to get the job done without fear of it hitting another neighbors house. At a further distance i could kill a second one before he relized the first one was hit.

SoLiDUS 04-18-2003 06:14 PM

If you're going after drug dealers, may I suggest every place you can find
cigarettes and alcohol as well ? Oh, don't forget pharmacies! I hear those
places are gold mines...

hake:

Innoxx 04-18-2003 06:23 PM

Yeah, see; I'm caught in the middle. It's good because you're cleaning the streets and all, but we're lowering ourselves to their level. Also, I believe some of these colourful people are necessary. Drug dealers help weed out those who are succeptable to addiction, murders kill off the weak, and so on.

Akuma 04-18-2003 06:49 PM

Wait, so you want me to commit suiside?

I'd have to say no that one.

04-18-2003 07:01 PM

i piss on christian conservatives!

Himmler 04-18-2003 07:09 PM

no thx i already go to church and i hate it my parents make me go lmao

04-18-2003 09:42 PM

pfftt under god? No way. If you want to get the job done do it yourself. Get your desert Eagle and shoot anyone "undesirable".

04-18-2003 10:18 PM

I would certainly be a vigilante but ix-nay on the whole God business.

Am I the only god fearing man here? Anyhow, I am a christian and I don't care if you aren't. I believe in freedom of religion and in the separation of church and state. I don't think mixing God and "justice" is a good thing at all. Boondock Saints however is a great movie.

cameltoe 04-19-2003 03:55 AM

yea it was a good movie but i dont think having vigelantes running around shooting people is a good solution
