Medal of Honor Breakthrough
 

Just read this at gamespot-
EA releases the first details on the next action game in its WWII-inspired Medal of Honor series.

"Electronic Arts has today announced that the next game in its popular WWII-inspired Medal of Honor series is scheduled for release in the fall. Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough will see players assuming the role of a US Army sergeant named John Baker, and will start at the battle for Kasserine Pass in North Africa.

From North Africa, players will race to capture Messina in Sicily before attempting to repel the German army at the historic battle of Monte Battaglia in the heart of Italy. Although specific details have not been released at this time, we're told that players will have access to an arsenal of weapons different to that in any previous Medal of Honor game as they fight both alone and alongside squadmates.

In addition to the single-player campaign, Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough will feature much-improved multiplayer support, including an all-new Liberation gameplay mode. In Liberation, defeated players will need to be rescued by surviving teammates before they can continue playing. Players will also have access to a number of new abilities in the multiplayer game, including the ability to drive tanks and, depending on their character class, call in artillery strikes or defuse mines. All of the multiplayer modes in Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough will allow players to sign up with the Americans, Italians, British, or Germans.

Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough is currently scheduled for release in the fall. We hope to bring you more information on the game when we report live from the E3 showfloor on May 14-16. "

Or take the maps the players made and put a $50 price tag on it like they did with another game that will go unmentioned.

Hey don't diss the marines...I Marine grunt could whoop any other grunt from any other branch of the service. They get 13 weeks of basic training don't ya think they might be a elite. GO MARINES!

Army infantryman training coupled with basic is 13 weeks as well n00blet.

True, but they got there fair share of Kills and Deaths in the Pacific.

The US sent more Marines to Iwo than to any other battle, 110,000 Marines in 880 Ships. The convoy of 880 US Ships sailed from Hawaii to Iwo in 40 days. It was the largest armada invasion up to that time in the Pacific War.

I getting bored of playing in the western front. I want to play in the Russian front like the battle of kursk and stalingrad!!! And also a pacific edition

Why are there two Breakthrough threads?

My uncle was with the marines that went ashore at Iwo. They say the fighting at iwo was worse that at omaha.

It would also be cool if you could play as the russian or play in a sniper squad hunting down sharpshooters

I'm not a flase patriot, but I wouldn't buy it either.

So you never play on the Axis team in MP?

It's only a game.

I, for one, would love to have the opportunity to play as a regular Axis grunt on Omaha in an effort to defend against the Allies.

It'd be really interesting and fun.

And different... Playing good guys all the time gets boring.

Now, I agree it'd be a bit weird to release a full game and only allow to play on the side of the evil, but to have the option to play the game from both sides would be great.

my comment was more of a joke than anything.

one thing they should NEVER make is an SS based game, because the objectives would look like this:

1. locate village X
2. defeat enemy forces in the area
3. round up all civilians in barn, light barn with flamethrower (hint: look for flamethrower in back of truck)
4. gather all prisoners and shoot them (hint: press e to activate MG-42)

ok ok let's put germany vs america aside for a moment

how about, germans vs soviets? hitler and stalin were both evil bastards, i would fight for the germans in a heartbeat.

U were only given the choice to play for Germany and USSR in IL-Sturmovick and that game was awesome. Both countries as people say were evil yet the game was still popular. Why couldnt they make a game like that only with infantry instead of aircraft?
