Multiplayer help for MOHAA
 

I need some help on multiplayer.
if i hosted a game on my computer would my friend be able to play if he was down the road from were i lived?

Also if you want to join a game on multiplayer you can put an ip address in but i dont know any so any help would be great.

Yes, he would, he should choose 'join internet game' and insert your IP-address.

Regarding the first question, what kind of specs do you have? You'll need a pretty swift machine with a high-speed connection to host games. If it's just the two of you, you should be ok.

As for IPs of multiplayer servers, try the in-game server browser or download the All Seeing Eye (search google for it).

i tried some ip adresses in but it says server connection time timed out why?

It could be that you don't have the password for those servers.

Also, have you patched your game to the most recent version? You need to have the same version as the server you are trying to connect to.

Do you run Spearhead? If so, go to http://www.allaboutnothing.net, grab the maps, and join us at 66.230.149.83

no i havent got spearhead.
i dont know any passwords either can you give some ips and passwords?

and i havent got it to the recent version just what it starts as.

Dude, you HAVE to patch the game. Go to http://www.eagames.com/official/moh_all ... t/home.jsp and get the v1.11 patch for allied assault. that's why you can't join any servers.

Scroll down to the section called "Medal of Honor Allied Assault™ UK & US 1.11 Patch" and download the correct patch for your region.

After you patch, this should reduce your timeout by about 75%, so hopefully this will fix your issue.

If your friend wants to join a game on your computer he will need your computer's ip address. To get it on windows 95, 98, or ME, press the start buttoin, click on run, then type in "command"and hit enter. Then type "win ip config" (not sure about the spaces on this one, experiment) to get your ip address. On windows NT, 2000, or XP, press start, click run, then type "cmd" and press enter. Then type "ip config" to get your ip address

so ive just got to download that right.

M8 just download the patch and put us out of our misery...1.11 it should be about 15mb and then install it.

If your hosting through a router you'll need to open the correct ports too.

I was downloading the patch but it said if want to continue i wouldn't be able to load any of my saved games.

Alright i am assuming since you've got to this stage you have downloaded the patch. Good! Now install the patch, it will come up with a warning saying "if you continue you will loose any saved games." Basically click Yes to continue and it will install. You may have to reboot, i've forgotten now if you do or not. Then like some people have told you above, download All Seeing Eye and set it up (althought that might be a tad complicated for you).

yeah but i dont want to lose save games!

i would have to start all over again on MOHAA how can it delete my saved games anyway if the disk isnt in?

Sorry Bud you will have just live with it. You need the patch to play online and replaying the SP mission wont be so bad. I still on occasion replay the SP game when I hit a slump in MP. For some reason it helps get out of it.

isnt there any way around it?

if i downloaded i wouldnt be able to load game but if i went on to new game on the map would it say omaha beach,Trodhiem and Arzew or not?

Your best bet it to install the patch then go onto the EA MoH:AA webby and get the single player cheats.

The SP cheats will let you choose any SP mission in the game.

when i patched my MOHAA it said my saved games would no longer be playable but after i patched it, they still worked oOo:
