Call of Duty coming out!
I was on the Gamespot website and saw this. The screens are awsome! It looks closely like Medal of Honor. Check out the screens.

No it isnt Mohaa. Its the creaters of the original MOHAA who were fired by 2015..... they work for activision now..... it is going to be if not the but one of the best WW2 games of its time. Its based on BOB and you also fight with british I belief and someone else....... the best of the best and Ive been waiting for over 2 months now, comes out in the fall

It looks sweet, just hope it doesn't require me to upgrade. I imagine those pictures are taken with full detail, but still, it looks very processor intensive (more-so than MoH, due to the high density particle effects I see in those pics).
I also hope they release a more MoH style physics mode for weapons (that is, balanced - rather than realism). The blurb states that it's going for realism, which is ok, but I hope there's an option for "arcade" too. It does look very much like MoH. It has that gritty WWII look about it that BF1942 and DoD both fail to acheive. The very look and feel that hooked me on MoH in the first place. No shotguns, no bazookas (unless they require two men, that'd be fine) and no "uber-l337" gun that ruins the balance of the whole game and I'm there. And, hopefully, proper support. |
From the looks of it, I'd say it is MoHAA II. Also because it is to be developed by some of the original MoHAA developers.
If the idea (at least the basics) is the same as that of MoHAA, I suspect this may be a competitor for the 'real' MoHAA II, to be developed by EA. I have more faith in the original MoHAA team than in EA's current MoHAA team, largely based on my experience with Spearhead, which is nothing like MoHAA. Especially regarding the multiplayer maps, skins and the way the engine works. We all know the system requirements for Spearhead greatly surpass MoHAA's, and why? It looks the same. For instance, my videocard is not the fastest available, but sufficient for playing MoHAA. I use 16 bit colours (can't really tell the difference between 16 and 32, and performance is better in 16). When playing Spearhead on 16 bit, there's 'fog' everywhere, to gain some FPS, I think. In MoHAA it is fine. This proofs my point, to some extent. If I had to, I would place my bets on this game, rather than on EA's MoHAA II. Because EA is...EA. Ah well, when Call of Duty becomes popular, EA can still buy the rights and ruin it with an expansion pack, biggrin: Looking at the screenshots, my guess is I will definitely need to upgrade for this game, or choose to play it at lower resolution and/or detail. And by the way, looking at the topic title, I thought: This might be coming out soon. The website says 'fall 2003'. So, Christmas at the earliest? I don't want to wait that long, so let's hope EA can fob me with the next expansion for MoHAA. I'm not counting on it. Prejudiced? Yes. Website: [url:2f8c2]http://www.callofduty.com/[/url:2f8c2] |

Pics are working again.
Yeah, it does look nice. Closely resembles MOH, but you can see the quality is alot better in models and jaggys. |
Newest PC Gamer has a big article on this game. Has some screens we havent seen as well. This looks to be a good one. Just hope the anti cheat support is there for MP community.

any mention of what engine is behind this game?
|
heavily modified Q3 engine Jim. Able to calculate from 80000-100000+ polygons. Other notable features include going prone (improves aim), operational vehicles including planes, trucks and tanks such as Russian T34...
