get a GeForce. voodoo died years ago

Manny 01-13-2002 04:57 AM

There is a fix for the Voodoo problems. I'm working on something that might help people with problems. Just be patient.

Arclight 01-13-2002 05:42 AM

Hopefully, Manny can do a work around. Here's what the MOH readme file says about unsupported video cards.

==================================

The following 16MB or greater 3D accelerators are not fully
supported and do not work properly with the game:

-3Dfx Voodoo 4 and 5
The main menu is corrupted. No intro movies play.
Explosions and muzzle flashes have gray boxes that appear
around them. Various textures are corrupted. See the 3Dfx
portion of the Troubleshooting section below to fix the
main menu.
-3Dfx Voodoo 3
The main menu is corrupted. See Troubleshooting section to
see how to get the menu to work. No intro movies play.
Briefing Screens are too blurry to read. Explosions and
muzzle flashes have gray boxes that appear around them.
Various textures are corrupted. See the 3Dfx portion of
the Troubleshooting section below to fix the main menu.
-3Dfx Voodoo Banshee cards
-Kyro II cards
Gray squares can be seen surrounding explosions and vehicle
headlights. This is a problem with the Kyro II video driver
mishandling mipmapping of alpha textures.
-Matrox G400 and G450
Textures on most levels are badly corrupted.
-Nvidia TNT and Vanta
These older cards yield poor frame rates.
-PowerVR NEON 250 cards:
Video Logic PowerVR Neon 250
-S3 Savage 2000 cards:
Diamond Viper II
-S3 Savage 4 cards:
Diamond Stealth III S540
Diamond Stealth III S540 Extreme
-SiS 300 cards

=================================

It may be time to upgrade after all these video cards can not be supported for ever.

if you ask me, that really sucks. how a new game doesnt fully support vid cards such as voodoo5 and kyroII chipsets.
i mean jesus, kyroII can out perform a GF2 DDR/MX400 on most benchmarks.

seems to me that game developers, cant see past nvida and ATI at the moment. hope to god it changes.
Kyro chipsets are very clever / very affordable / and imo have a very promising future with the kyroIII on its way.

as for finding drivers m8, u can try http://www.voodoofiles.com

I've had various possible solutions.
You could try going to options/video/texture filter, click on bilinear. Trilinear involves multitexturing.

DIbnho_BR 01-13-2002 07:21 AM

Manny,

I put Bilinear.. but the problem continuous...

what is d3d?? I used OpenGL...
is a .fix problem??

I can play RTCW normally...

Plz..Help me

DIbnho_BR 01-13-2002 08:03 AM

My problem is: I have the mohaa demo.
I run the game ... configure it and when it finished the loading bar, just
before the real action the game returns to Windows and i get a screen that gives
me a msg like tehis "MOHAA Needs a multitexturing graphics card"
I have a 3dFx Voodoo Banhsee and a Windowm Me

I can play Return To Castle Wolfenstein & Quake III & Unreal Tournament...

One guy tell me to change ffx86.dll to ffx86.bak...I used WickedGL...

I did this but the problem is not solve... yet

Post the specs on your computer. How can someone help you if they do not know what components are in your computer case. We're not mind readers. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

voodoo died several years ago, just some peeps still don't know it.... get a nvidia card mate.

Thompson 01-13-2002 08:16 AM

U need to have at least a VooDoo 3 card cause the banshee is not a multitexturing card. EA taken the graphic engine of q3 but they paid $300 000 so they can modify it, and the way they modify it, u need a multitexturing card to run the game. Too bad. I suggest u to buy an nvidia card!

Manny 01-13-2002 08:33 AM

The fix has to do some drivers. Anyone?

Grizzly 01-13-2002 08:50 AM

Hey,you used the words from my old sig.

Arclight 01-13-2002 09:20 AM

Without seeing his specs--I'd GUESS:

1. Ditto, outdated video card

2. Try some updated drivers (long shot)

Check that mobo before you buy just any video card.

Manny 01-13-2002 09:32 AM

Open your comp up, if you don't see a brown slot on the mobo then you shouldn't buy a new card until you get your next computer. No AGP is no good.

Arclight 01-13-2002 10:18 AM

Ditto that abt the AGP slots.

DIbnho_BR 01-14-2002 03:30 AM

in full version, the game will work on my video card???

Mustang 01-14-2002 03:54 AM

I seriously doubt it, but anything is possible. You could buy a card that would run it for the price of the game though.
