Favorite BoB moment

What is your favorite BoB scene?
Mine is where Luz says " this article says that the mazi's are bad!" That cracked me up so what is your favorite scene?

Slinky2397 05-10-2003 04:30 PM

Akuma 05-10-2003 05:05 PM

05-10-2003 06:06 PM

when a guy found shit in his foxhole.

Slinky2397 05-10-2003 06:19 PM

Mein favorite is when they sing "Blood Upon the Risers" through Germany.

05-10-2003 06:25 PM

i liked the german general adressing his troops in the final episode

Old Reliable 05-10-2003 06:27 PM

yah that was my favorite part as well

Proteus 05-10-2003 06:28 PM

When Winters is running through the feild and comes upon a German that has to be at least 16 years old and he shoots him from the hip.....then he unloads on the whole damn German company.

snipeymagoo 05-10-2003 07:45 PM

shit, to many to name

Innoxx 05-10-2003 07:51 PM

When Winters threw piss on Nixon...... HAW! owned!

Simo Häyhä 05-10-2003 09:33 PM

episode 5 at the beginning. where winters shoots the german who just woke up evil:

05-10-2003 10:51 PM

any part where some german guy totaly owns an american

Slinky2397 05-10-2003 10:57 PM

I wish there were more motion pictures (didn't say movies) like BoB, totally historical accurate, and not a dramatized storyline where the main guy owns like Rambo and dies in the end.

Old Reliable 05-10-2003 10:59 PM

it wasnt totally historically accurate, it made the germans look stupid sometimes

Slinky2397 05-10-2003 11:00 PM

I meant historically accurate in the events that took place.

Old Reliable 05-10-2003 11:02 PM

i dont know the exact events that happened but yeah I agree it is closer than probably any other war movie/film

What Amercian made Movie/T.V series doesn't?

Eight Ace 05-10-2003 11:06 PM

I liked when Winters was swimming....his pale, muscular body,
coursing across the chill shimmering water...his nipples

...whoops, heh...sorry, wrong forum.......damned edit button...#@$$*&#!! hake:

This has to be fairly accurate because its based on real events experienced by real people. My grandfather who was in the 506th during ww2 read the Stephen Ambrose book and he said it was spot on. Since BoB is based on the book, im sure it was pretty damn close.

Old Reliable 05-10-2003 11:16 PM

yeah but there were several instances that it seemed the script was suspicious in making the germans seem lesser. the embankment assault, it seemed like the germans didnt kill any americans. it just made it look like all germans were greens

CaP bUsTa 05-10-2003 11:18 PM

yea your right, im sure things like that were tweaked when they made the mini series. I havnt read the book though so I'm not sure how it compares.

T.Hunter 05-10-2003 11:32 PM

I liked the 10th episode. when germany surrenders, and easy finds all the officers houses in austria. i liked the part when the officer gives the speach to his troops. i find it funny knowing these guys went into a war to fight against hitlers army as a nobody and in a few months they are his eagle nest sipping hitler's finest wine. I'd kill to go to Austria.

I have to disagree. When beckey had her twins and michelles birthday party was ruined. That was a sad time.

White Rabbit 05-11-2003 12:16 AM

the movie follows the book, so its very accurate

It sure was real close to the book I say. Really close.

...those germans were caught in the open, they broke and ran, the Americans had suprise
and high ground (ie. another embankment), I didn't see too much exaggeration in the series
...so I guess it really was a "turkey shoot".

05-11-2003 05:57 AM

you must first consider the books author...hardly and "unbiased" historian

05-11-2003 01:36 PM

my favorite was in episode 6 when some guy get part of a treeburst and there are huge splinters in him, so they are bringing him to a jeep where they fall and the guy screams and Perconte goes "Ah shit, you got blood on my trousers" and the wounded man yells out "IM REAL SORRY FRANK!" biggrin:

Tiwaz 05-11-2003 02:23 PM

'Got a penny?'

Although I like the complete series a lot, I think my favourite part at the moment is episode 10; Points. Both funny and dramatic.

Tiwaz 05-11-2003 02:28 PM

I also read the book, written by Ambrose. Changes your view on the series and characters in soime ways. Also, events in the series are not always accurate, although they did a good job. A must-read, if you like the series.

Tiwaz 05-11-2003 02:28 PM

rdeyes 05-11-2003 02:50 PM

It is Ambrose, not Amrose.

Ferich 05-11-2003 04:21 PM

I can't stand the way Ambrose writes, it's just so boring... Now James Jones ( Thin Red Line ) is a great writer.
