hi all
i have a p4 1700 with 512 mb ram , geforce 2 mx 64 mb 400 and i have only like 35 fps in game, i want to know if its only me or all of you have the same problem with a geforce mx |
lol max
|
What Windows Version you got. Heard that there are some problems with WinMe. (Which I got).
To compare, I got p4 1.3, GeForce 2 GTS 32 DDR, 128 MB RDRAM. MP is 50 to 120, SP is about 30 to 80. (Though lags to 15 somtimes...) ------------------ http://dba.gamepoint.net/images/Sgt_Echo.jpg Another useless post by Echo |

The Geforce 2 MX is a very bad card. To get superb performance you need a Geforce 3 or maybe a Radeon 8500.
|
HOW THE HELL DO YOU VIEW YOUR FPS????????????????
|
2 questions...
what are your graphic settings? what drivers are you using? |
No way man, MX400 is a great card for the price. Blows away any other Geforce2 MX, quality very close to Geforce2 Pro.
|
i agree, my Geforce produces excellent graphics and FPS for the price.
|
try the detonator drivers from nvidia.com,works for me
------------------ |
I download detonator XP cause i use WinXp and when i run it it say: are you sure you want the setup to continue cause its not compatible with windows xp

8827, how the hell did you get FPS's like that!? I have a P4 1.4GHZ,512MB RDRAM,Geforce3 Ti200 64MB DDR and I don't get FPS like that, hell im lucky if I break 50 in a gunfight in the SP demo, and I sure as hell don't break 100 in MP. How did you get an FPS like that, what detonator drivers you using, im on 21.85.
|
I was getting up to 70+ fps with the Geforce2 MX400 and an AMD Athlon 1 Ghz with 256 MB. I think you need to tweak. BTW, I just got a Geforce3 Ti 200, and the improvement is significant. Up to 100 fps now. Except the slow areas (action or those dang swaying leaves) went from 12 fps min to like 40 fps min. Actually, I always forget to check the fps in an action scene! But it is definitely much better now. Seriously, even if you get the Geforce3, TWEAK! I posted here before some things you can do to speed things up. Here is the thread: http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/For...ML/002136.html

OH MAN, I hope nothing goes wrong w/ mine.
I got a P4, 256 MB Ram, and a GeForce 2 MX also on WinME. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't wanna get the game then not be able to play it. |
I'm not sure of what drivers I have, how do I check? When I go to the NVIDIA GeForce 2 GTS/ GeForce 2 Pro Settings, it says that mine is version 4.13.01.1241 though I'm not sure if it is right, although it does say driver version information
Of course, sometimes FPS in MP drops to 30, but sometimes, walking through hallways they can climb to over 100. (150 is now my best http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif) My MOHAA settings: Advanced tab View Models: Full Shadows: Simple Terrain: Low Model detail: Medium Effects detail: Lower Curve detail (whatever it is): Low Everything else: on (checked) besides volumetric smoke Video tab Resolution: 800x600 Colour depth: 16-bit Texture detail: High Texture colour depth: 16-bit Texture filter: Bilinear Texture compression: on (checked) Wall decals: on (checked) Weather effects: on (checked) I'll post my SP settings if you want that too. ------------------ http://dba.gamepoint.net/images/Sgt_Echo.jpg Another useless post by Echo |
Try medium sound and see if that improves the FPS.

Ya gotta have good high quality sound, it ruins the experience if ya don't http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

The game should work w/ GeForce 2 for Retail, right?
|
Chiggity-check THIS out:
AMD 950 640MB RAM The aforementioned GeForce 2 64MB MX400 WinME And I would say, on average, in battle, I get around 20-25 FPS. I do believe that the game defaulted me to 640x400 res, which..well, it saddened me a little. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif I need to lose ME, and tweak my computer a bit. Any tips? ------------------ http://home.earthlink.net/~aurelioooo/howler.gif |
You know what? If I buy the retail version, and it runs like what you guys are saying on mine, I just wasted my money for NOTHING. Maby I can my dad to get me a cheap custom built computer just for games...(it'll never happen)

Just hit OK and let it load. Shouldn't have any problems. If so, then disable card and it will reinstall itself upon restart (IN WINXP THAT IS!) |
My specs
AMD Athlon @ 850 256MB ram Geforce2 MX400 Windows 2000 I am running the game at 800x600 and its beautiful. No problems at all. |
Well, if this game doesn't run on the GeForce 2 well, it's like my dad says. The software is a piece of crap. I run all of my other games on mine no problem at all.
|
I'm gonna buy the game, but not open it till I find out if people are having problems w/ specs like mine. That way, I get it on release date, but if it doesn't work, I can return it. And if it does work, I'll have already. I'm BRILLIANT!

I have everything on the highest settings:
View Models: Full Shadows: complex Terrain: Highest Model detail: Highest Effects detail: Highest Curve detail (whatever it is):best Everything else: on (checked) Incl. volumetric smoke Video tab Resolution: 1024x768 Colour depth: 32-bit Texture detail: Highest Texture colour depth: 32-bit Texture filter: Bilinear Texture compression: on (checked) Wall decals: on (checked) Weather effects: on (checked) And i'm running on a: AMD Athlon 1Ghz - 128MB RAM - GeForceII MX400 and running on XP prof. And when im playing pings at 200 still no problems!!! |
that is not the real determining factor on MP pings. Pings are determined by, basically your connection. If I had the best comp out there, if I have a 56k modem, and try to connect to America, I will get crap pings no matter what.
What we are talking about is FPS. (Frames Per Second) ------------------ http://dba.gamepoint.net/images/Sgt_Echo.jpg Another useless post by Echo |
DOnt worry it runs hammerhead
|
I have Absolutly No Problem with My
Ge force 2Mx400 64mb ddr Its a great card personly i think the problem lies in The Processor Most of you who are reporting Lag or low FPS rates have Intel Pentuium 4s I have an AMD Athlon 1.2 and it has never crash stutter or laged for me and its maxed out 1024 + 32bit + Max detail + textures every 1 knows that the P4 is better at mathimatical tasks than Running Games THE AMD is the GAMERS CHOICE look on the AMD website at the Benchmarks and see for you self |
