EA should have made somethin like German Soldiers being able to surrender like Rogue Spear where the terrorist surrender sometimes. (Although I'll still kill them)

That would be cool.

Manny 01-14-2002 02:33 AM

Allies hardly killed any german prisoners.
I remeber when the Bismarck[sp?] sunk, all german survivors were shipped to Canada until the war was over.

First Man Down 01-14-2002 02:35 AM

I wasn't suggesting my actions would be historically accurate - it was just be fun.

KrautKiller16 01-14-2002 02:58 AM

In The Thin Red Line, Americans killed hella soldiers that surrendered.

What movie is "SPR"?

sgt.sayian 01-14-2002 04:01 AM

if I was behind enemy lines and people surrendered, I would have no choice but to kill them. You can't take prisoners cause they slow you down, if you let them go like in SPR they could re-join another nazi company or alert people that your there and the hunt goes on.

yea that would be cool , i never thought of that . even though i practically pitched every kind of roguespear feature to 2015 , i forgot that one .

Dice 01-14-2002 05:45 AM

Only thing is if you're operating behind enemy lines...I don't think you're taking prisoners

I doubt a small group of four-six guys would have the means to do that, and therefore wouldn't take any prisoners.

Dice 01-14-2002 05:54 AM

So what would potential prisoners just be shot?

Pretty sure, though, they don't do what John Miller did in SPR: blindfold them and have them walk 1000 paces to turn THEMSELVES in...

Maybe when they surrender like in Omaha the allies can tie them up or just kill them.
Maybe when your alone they could just put their hands behind their head. If you look away they could pick up their weapons and try kill you.

The first Iron Cross of the campaign, (German Invasion of Western Europe, May 1940) however, was awareded to an ss officer, Captain Krass, of the Leibstandarte regiment, who, on the mornin of May 11, crossed the Ijssel river in Holland with a small patrol, penetrated 40 miles into Dutch territory, and bought back a hundred Dutch soldiers whom he and his little force had captured during their invasion.

-Taken from Second World War, New Edition by Martin Gilbert on page 62.

Who said small groups can't take prisoners? http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

And don't think what happened in movies is what happens commonly, part of the movies are just Hollywood exaggeration.

while playing Sp once, after shooting a germans helmut off at the church with pistol. (not enough to kill him of course) He ran off to one of those fox holes and i got right up in his face and he didnt do anything. Except look at me with those big blue puppy dog eyes. This rather surprised me i figured he would atleast try to club me with his rifle, after waiting like a minute i finally beat him to death.

and that ends my pointless story.

Having Nazis surrendering in MoH:AA would be a cool feature, however, I think that after we all get a chance to experience MoH:AA's Omaha Beach assault, we would probably all shoot the surrendering Nazis anyway out of pure disgust for the mutilation we saw on Omaha Beach, thus 2015 found it useless to have them surrendering.

Think of it as more of a "perk" that you get to kill every Nazi in the game rather than take them prisoner. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

First Man Down 01-14-2002 10:21 AM

I was thinking the same thing, but instead of surrender, it would be sweet if occasionally a German would beg for mercy if he was out numbered. For example, you clear a house and you come across one guy left, and he gets on his knees and begs for mercy.

Then shoot him.
