TBR1 is on right now on the History Channel, excellent movie, just thought some of you would be interested

Doesn't Luke Skywalker fire 20 rounds from his Garand into ovens with Germans in it?

no he empties a clip and then looks for another one, but sarge hands him one

Heh, I dunno. I haven't watched that movie in like 8 years.

yes he does, he fires off 17 rounds (i counted) into this one German hiding in an oven in the Conecntration Camp scene, he doesnt stop to reload. Then when he does, the clip doesnt pop out like it should.

hmm... i like how its realistic

well it really is a great movie

they're replaying it again right now, were at the part where the guy loses a ball

i saw it on the history channel, its not that bad, the omaha scene was weird; different than i normally see it (if i remember it correctly)

well, Omaha beach was a couple miles wide and the terrain throughout was different.

If I recall correctly the 28th regiment, 1st division had much easier going than the 106th regiment, 29th division and 2nd Ranger battalion (SPR sector)

I think they are landing in Italy, not Normandy, could be wrong. I just wish it was a bit more realaistic.

I didn't like this movie at all.

don't you just love it when the prop guys and military advisor go all out to get authentic weapons and some chickenshit editor cuts the film up so these kind of things happen biggrin:

ya that is funny when that happens and i did notice that the clip dosent make the ping but also the clip that sarge hands him is also for a bolt action not m1

I am pretty sure the clip looked like this:

the Garand clip has offset rounds, so it looks like it has five like a stripper-clip instead of the eight it really has.

One other question:

When in Kasserine Pass and they dug holes for the tanks to roll over them, the tanks role right over holes and you hear them screaming. Is it killing them or just the sudden weight of the tank on their heads?

The greatest part in the movie is when that guy gets his ball blown off and the other guys says "thats why god gave you two"

I think that's what you call newbies getting really scared.

I think you wouldn't be cool calm and collected if a 30 ton vehicle rolled over you.
