Family history
 

Does anyone know about their family history?
Mine goes way way back to Ireland and france. I no nothing about my french heritage. But apparently I am a decendant of a King of Ireland. He was in power up until 1080 or so when he was killed during a battle.

Mother's Side - Jews from France......Don't know much else. My grandparents came over in the late 30s, before the War began, and started a family down here.

Father's Side - 6th Generation Otagans. (Otago is a province in the South Island of New Zealand)....
Came over as Scottish Immigrants, first Male settler from my family married a Maori woman. Family grew from there.

Dad is the son of a polish immigrant

family originates from switzerland moves from there when i was 3 then grew up here

My Father's side is Slovak-- My great, great grandfather moved here...he died before i could meet him.

My Mother's side is Syrian-- My great great grandfather moved here from Damascus, Syria. My mom's maden name is "Barbary". I always wondered if that had any relation to the Barbary Pirates of the Med. Sea.

You should check it out man. NEver know who youre related to. I knew a kid with the last name Key-Wallace...Guess who he is related too? Yep WIlliam Wallace.

i looked up my family coat of arms,and said it was given to my familiy in the 1400's

On my mother's side: My Great Grandma comes from Ireland, and my Great GrandDad Comes from Germany, and he had a HOOK!

Fathers Side: According to my last name, my family comes from people who setteled in Ireland/Scottland after arriving From Central Europe.

Just goes to show that post counts don't mean dick.

Father's side - Descended from slaves, probably from the western africa, also from Italy since my great great great grandmother 's owner decided to marry her.

Mother's Side - Descended from slaves, probably from western/central africa.

French and I believe I am also related to an English king, I am also a distant relative of former President Calvin Coolidge

I traced my family back to Italy and Austria. I'm still in the process of going back further.

My grandfather, a col of the 1st regiment in the fallschirm jagers, tried to capture or kill winston churchhill but some people in the village near by found out and called in a nearby allied platoon...he and some men managed to get away then later in berlin we're captured and seperated.My grandfather was sent to a russian prison where he met guastophe or something like that.Guastophe was in one of the panzer divisions and taught my grandfather how to survive in the prison.My grandfather promised he'd marry Guastophe's sister.When my grandfather got out of the prison he did marry Guastophe's sister.Hmm I just realised,none of this getting married stuff isn't really important... oOo:
