Okay, the gayest thing just happened to me. I usually play in 800x600x32, and I decided to try the highest resolution that my system could handle, which is 1280x1024x32. Anyway, so I change the resolution, and I noticed a huge difference in frame rates. It was faster! I was thinking, WTF man, this isn't supposed to happen. Anyway, so I switched to 640x480 to see what happened, and still, 1280x1024 was faster. Weird huh? It's cool for me. Anyway, here are my system specs: 1.2 Gigahertz AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1024 MB PC-133 RAM 60 Gigabyte 7200RPM HD suckers... AC |

yeah what graphics card do you have. If its a good one then I'd expect that to happen, some cards ( GF3 cards ) are bottlenecked at 800x600, they were designed for higher res graphics http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ------------------ My site > http://www.stillborntree.homestead.com http://alliedassault.righthere.nl/pics/omaha.jpg |

That's a shitload of RAM, my friend. |
The only real question is why you were NOT running it at higher than 800x600x32 int he first place. |
hey acgreen, i noticed ur in the northern california area, wanna go to a lan on friday, were gonna be doin allied assault full. heh just thought id ask |
 u lucky bastard u |
Yes, I have a GF3 and I get the same results. I play at 1280x1024 at 32bit. Taking the resolution down to 1024x768 does not do anything to the frames or makes the frames go down. Yeah there is definetly a bottleneck and its the card but the CPU. I have a 1ghz cpu. I guess thats good news for the card that it can handle alot more. |
Poseyj, heck yeah I'd like to have a LAN party. Where is it? I'm by Sacramento, so I hope it's near there... Thanks, AC |
acgreen: ahh sacramento, the lan is more up in northern california, in Chico, 95926. its kinda near redding. doh thought u were more north. |
Aright man, thanks anyway. AC |
Damn, I got the exact same card as ya acgreen. I outta try that sometime... ------------------ http://dba.gamepoint.net/images/Sgt_Echo.jpg Another useless post by Echo |

 I have a p2 350 and a geforce mx 200 and i run on 1280x1024 and it doesn't affect the frames one bit! It's awesome |
Doesnt Affect the frame rate from moving from 1 to the other right http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif If thats youre real system, be sure to check youre temp, cos you might Frie youre CPU Hooking up on the internet to long :P |
