he's downloading it...he must be a warez man...
oh no...GET HIM |
Nevermind about smaller, ecologically friendly packaging, we're saving the environment by downloading it - no packaging at all. Ha ha.
|
Damn I don't like this.
The big ass boxes I'm used to that always have an opening front fold will not be used for MoH:AA. Bummer. I was really looking forward to one. |
Well, one things for sure all future EA products will have the same box size as MOHAA.
|
I like it!!! http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif
would like it more if it was like this: http://www.iespana.es/samsagazsite/box.jpg Samsagaz's game are depicted there. He's from Spain. Europe gets their pc games packaged like that. |
The SIMS have the same type of box. Probably because its made by the same company. thats not really new then.

Somehow I doubt The Sims has the same box size as MOHAA, if it did they would have mention it in the press report...
MOHAA will be the first game to have it... ....first game from EA that is. |
i think it's a great idea. i always wondered why they used such big boxes. such a waste of space. these smaller boxes might also prevent the cd from bouncing around. i hate when i open up the box, only to find a cracked and damaged cd case. oh, and games have been using these smaller boxes already. i've seen Rollercoaster Tycoon use them. much more sleek and less clumsy looking. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

This is suppose to be a new standard for PC game boxes. I'm happy about it. Boxes shouldn't be that big unless they're holding 20+ floppy disks http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

lol, 1.4 GB on floppy disk, that would be fun:

Hehe...floppy...lol
Good one... |
Front fold flaps are awesome...and about the CDs banging around in the box, they should have a little enlosed space for the CD to be in.
BTW, the box picture looks even cooler than I thought before...the back of the box is what sucks. They are too serious on that game...anyone ever notice the wording? It's serious, instead of bragging about the level design, advanced A.I., etc. If anyone knows what I mean. |
Im glad of this, personally I was hoping for a dvd case but oh well.
I always felt like I was getting ripped off with those huge boxes. They always seem like such a waste of space. It's a shame though, the big boxes always get pride of place on the software shelves. At my local EB the DVD cases get crammed onto one of those christmas tree spinning things and it's really hard to find anything. ------------------ http://dba.gamepoint.net/images/MOHsig4.jpg Lady Astor: "Winston, if I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee." Bah! I was hoping for a dvd-style case.....
fork it,I could give a rat's tail what it looks like,as long as I get it soon! |
And just WHERE did ya find those pics, huh?
you an EA spy???A Time Traveler??? /me eyes you real suspiciously...... http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif (j/k) |
less paper and cardboard for me to go through.
|
hm. i too was expecting a plastic dvd case. crazy.
|
Yes, i'm james bond...lol
I found it at the EAGAMES official website |
The SimCoaster box is the old standard one right?

Yup....
|
Why dont thay have the max payne box
|
Methinks the Max Payne box is still bigger than this...
|
noooooo realy
|
the cardboard is too big,bad storage problems with big bad ass boxes, not good, killing trees,,,,,
however, plastic, smaller, convenient dvd style packaging, hmmmmm, nice, better,no card, just plastic. well theres my in-depth review of the box in the pic although they won't use that box anyway.. |
Not the dvd case, i'm talkin about the outer
box. |
Hmm..I thought EA announced a DVD style case...something strange is afoot.
|
I saw the box already, it was in my hands. At my local EB they have it up for show only and it says coming soon and its the exact one, size and everything, I am guessing its DVD case because that would easily fit and have about 25% width left inside of it to fit its little papers and advertisements along with manual. L8r.
|
whoa, pretty small but its cool http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif, I was expecting it in one of those BIG ASS box things lol.
|
I think that what's going on is that they have a smaller outter cardboard box, and a DVD case to contain the CD. (Along with tiny manuals and subscription paper.

well at least it didn't take 30 trees to make a huge box....there EA goes trying to save the rainforests!!!
|
My gues is the outside is cardboard, wile the inside contains a dvd box,
would be fucked if it contained a normal cd case cos i always seem to brake them, some how. [This message has been edited by DigitalSmoke (edited January 18, 2002).] |
I aaint going to play with the box anyhow, maybe my cat will.
|
LOL!!!
LOL!!! |
LOL!!!
LOL!!! Oops!!!...I think I got carried away... [This message has been edited by K.N.K][NCO (edited January 18, 2002).] |
That's gay - I thought the the whole purpose of putting the game in a DVD-style case was to save on cardboard and create more space on retail shelves. What's the point of putting a DVD case inside a smaller box???
Idiocy! |
Why is this all of a sudden a big deal for the game media types...they have been using these "mini" boxes for several months now on various titles. Why are they just now presenting it as a "new" thing?
------------------ ~Mange~ http://members.home.net/aqstudios/previews/sig.jpg |
I think it's sad we're losing our great large boxes of the past. I loved them as a kid I would keep the boxes and arrange them in a display. Bigger is bolder and better for me. And if this game doesn't come with a paper manual...I'm gonna flip.
The box looks like SHIT |
Attracts more attention to an already hyped-up product. Now CNN have something to report. "And in other news, EA is rolling out the first of the new DVD-style cases with it's anticipated action game..."
