How to spot a cheater (Ie TeamGod)
 

Ok, as you all know I'm no advocate of anonymous "cheat lists" whereby a load of random IPS are posted in some vague attempt to stop people cheating.

Well, this post is not about that. It's not about stopping cheaters and it's not about a witch-hunt - However, it is more tangible than "Banned for using Ronald Mcdonald Skin". You could use the little tricks I use to get a better idea about a suspected cheater, so I suppose it has some use.

Whatever, I am here this evening to show some short clips of a player that I recorded today, with a wallhack enabled.

The player in question is a "_Garkmell_". I was playing on a sniper only server when he pops in and after about 20 kills I realised something was a little fishy with him.

A few "fake peeks" later (all of which he fell for) I said "Ah, I see..." and he immediately replied: "I am in Teamgod" and started spouting the TeamGod phrases that I've no doubt you'll all be aware of.

To this I warmed my hands... I'd been looking forward to a TGay member joining a server I was in - Particulaly as I did not have Ydiss as my name so he could not have known it was me - So, I started up FRAPS.

I'm not really interested if he's telling the truth or not (He is from Europe, I wasn't aware they had members from here - It's likely he isn't, but he seemed devoted to them anyway), but it's still funny to watch him fall for the simplest of tricks.

Just a side note, feel free to spam his AOL account (seen in the first screenshot).

Here is the first video. Fairly inoccuous stuff, this one. He's obviously shooting at something, perhaps it's the wall directly in front of me that he is angry at? Whatever it is he is so distracted by it that he fails to notice someone behind him about to shoot his head off.

Here is a much more incriminating clip (However, he could still just have guessed from hearing the door, so still not iron-clad). Yet again, he's so mesmerised by the empty space in the window he just shot at that he gets shot from behind, in almost identical fashion.

Again, this next clip is in slow motion to highlight the best way to catch cheaters red-handed (litterally). He falls for the fake peek twice here before finally killing me with the third shot. Good reflexes there, son. So good you shoot before I appear.

What are you shooting at? Did that door call your mother a cheap, rabid whore? Whatever it did it felt the wrath of TeamGod and paid the price for being in the way of the little red man that miraculously appears seconds later around the corner.

And finally, the most blatent and incriminating sequence I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Only the truest newbies are capable of such laughabaly obvious cheating.

What use was this post?

None really, except just to laugh at. I seriously doubt this buffoon really is in TeamGod. I'm semi tempted to post these clips on their forum but I honestly don't see the point.

He categorically denied cheating. He said that TeamGod are always accused of cheating and it's just because they are good and they own the net and blah-de-fucking-blah.

Well, if this child was a representative of the fabled and oh-so-glorious organisation that is TeamGod.net, then I can understand why they are so frequently accused and banned.

I wouldn't put it past them... After all this is the clan that GODKEVIN belongs to. The same GODKEVIN that tried to fool this whole forum by posting a doctored screenshot where he added a "5" to the end of his score to make it look like he had gotten over 2000 kills (instead of just 200).

The very GODKEVIN who forgot to use the same font as the rest of the screenshot.

It shows enough to reveal a cheater, why would I want to waste my fucking time looking for the best one? It does what I need it to do and it can be turned off in game until I need it.

Yeh the quality is shite. I didn't bother with divx, just used indeo (divx codec required that I register before I use it - sod that) and I cut the quality down to 50% deliberately.

But, I wasn't really trying for an Oscar here, it was just a laugh.

I make one post like that and you go off on me. Looks like a good use of time, as you put it.

Telling someone that what they wrote annoyed me is always a good way of spending my time. It's aimed to stop them doing it. Feedback is the only way to know how something they do affects others.

Feedback is exactly what I gave you. You might not like it, but it is feedback. If you are going to show some clips of a cheater, at least dont use a shitty OpenGL wallhack, thats all I am saying. End of story.

That's fine, but what difference would it make?

The purpose of the "shitty OPenGL" hack I am using is to see the player through the wall. None other.

By downloading a cham skin (one of yours perhaps?) I only improve on the aspect of knowing when a part of a player is visible.

As this benefits only the cheater who wishes to use this, I fail to see how it would improve my clips, except for asthetics. Which are unimportant.

The hack I'm using, whilst old and shitty as you say, does its job.

By the way, I've played a cheater and openly used this hack against him. He was using some uber new cham skin and I ripped him apart.

What difference does it make? lol.

Fine work as always, Ydiss, your Xcoutryard is defintely the best ffa map out there (2bad nobody likes ffa; it's a real challenge).

What TEAMGOD wants is attention. I've found if you ignore them, they'll go away.

So in the spirit of the Tgay OWNED forum, allow me to share our experience with you. It is, I'm sure you'll agree classic TG. Their playbook isnt all that big after all.

Our server (66.151.182.34 CKR 1.1), like most, was attacked one day by TEAMGIMP. We had moved servers and I hadnt yet installed {MOB}Druid's anti sub hack mod.

I was annoyed, but I didnt lose my head. I also didnt converse with them. This is what they want, a reaction. They love it when people accuse them of cheating. It allows them to spout their dogma like some communist party aparachik. Ive talked to Dr.Phil about it and he says its a classic case of negative attention seeking behaviour. I noted their IP's (you cannot, btw use a proxy or otherwise completely mask your IP when you play MOH. Your ip can change everytime you connect, but the root, i.e. your service provider, remains the same.) and reported them to their ISP's abuse department. I also, for good measure, bounced a few pings off their computers to get their attention.

The SubHack is a form of denial of service and as such is potentially a serious crime in most jurisdictions. While I realized my one little complaint to a large company wont acomplish much by itself, I hoped in combination with other efforts it might result in Daddy pulling the plug on Johnny's new Alienware.

A few days later a lone Tgimper came in and threated to crash the server (in caps no less!). Once again, I said nothing. I just waited. Nothing happend. Waited some more. No sub. I didnt have to boot him this time, he left, his little tail tucked between his legs.

We havent seen them since. I checked their OWND hall a while ago and was mildly dissapointed that we did not merit that high honour. Sad to see our friends at VX9 be victimized by them.

The only thing that bothers me about TGIMP is how long they played in leagues before being found out.

Thanks, Virgo, although I seriously doubt that my actions here will make a difference.

I am anti-cheat, but MOH:AA has gone so far into the gutter (due mainly to lack of support and no future) that I truly don't care about cheaters anymore.

In fact, rather than being a Cheat-Police type person I would say I'm more of a Cheat Vigilante. Bit poncy, I know, but it's accurate.

As I don't bother playing on clan servers, or Pandora servers, I occasionally come across a blatent cheater. Once I have ensured they are cheating (as I did in the clips here) I will quite happily turn on my own hack, as old as it may be, and tell them that I have.

I then teach them a lesson by soundly raping them.

Usually they leave the server after one map. If they don't, it's still fun biggrin: It's probably just as good as kicking them, in most cases though. If they aren't winning then they'll go find another server. Then I turn my hack off and carry on.

Whilst I know that doing this is sinking to their level and is no better than what they are doing, I don't really care enough about the game to worry myself about it. If the server isn't modded, it's not my fault.

So, I don't think I deserve your praise, but when it comes to TeamGod....

I think I now hold the accolade of having the most conclusive evidence that they do cheat. Everyone knows they cheat, but still.. The best anyone has come up with in the past is just screenshots, and they can be edited easilly.
