USING A PROXY. . .STEP BY STEP

No this isnt a STEP BY STEP guide. I WANT to know how to use one. Specifically it seems a site has blocked the server I'm on at work, so I need to know how to use a PROXY to get around it.

Speak in laymans terms, I'm both BLACK and IGNORANT about this so thats two strikes against me.

Since this is MY thread any derailing will get deleted.

Its basicallly a proxy program as well as an ad remover program. Just "scrambles" (proxies) your ip.

ED 08-15-2003 01:01 PM

How long should I let it keep scrambling?

White Rabbit 08-15-2003 01:04 PM

Dont need to wait any, as soon as the verified list has some ip's click the enable scramble thing and u can browse the sites, might be a bit slower though, to disable it just right click the icon in task bar and select disable ip scramble.

ED 08-15-2003 01:08 PM

Ok got an error when I clicked ENABLE saying theres no IP in Verified IP list. What goes there? Please to be explaining the different areas in the IP SCRAMBLE section.

K far left hand side box is the list of verified ip's. Middle box is the list of test ips, it gets ips and runs them through to check what ones wor. Whatever ones work get shifted to the "verified" box on the far left. What you need to do is click retreive test list, then click the start checking option. As soon as you see ips appear in the far left hand box click stop checking then check the box saying enable ip scramble. Hit apply and thats it

ED 08-15-2003 01:18 PM

Ok this is what happens - click on RETRIEVE LIST, then it puts it into the TEST AREA, and says connecting for each PROXY. Do I need to wait for the program to put IPS in the far left box or am I doing that manually. That's where I'm getting all tossed around about. Cause the first time it went through I left came back and there was nothing there.

And how do you run a traceip.

And folks see if you can navigate to this website. . .

geRV 08-15-2003 01:44 PM

Simo Häyhä 08-15-2003 04:43 PM

go into DOS
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

happy:

i have a bunch of proxies for you ed, very simple to use (activate them in 30 seconds or less) SSL 128 bit encrypted proxies i use when i smurf, very good but slow.

ED 08-15-2003 04:50 PM

PM with n00b instructions. Cause this admuncher looks cool to block ads and shit, but i didnt get a SINGLE verified proxy.

Drew 08-15-2003 05:05 PM

Meh.. I told you n00bs about AdMuncher like my third post here oOo:

Right-click -> Configure

Tools tab -> IP Scramble tab

Retrieve Test List

Start checking test proxy list

Verifieds appear in the far left. If this doesn't work, your sys admin at work must have some weird firewall.

Simo Häyhä 08-15-2003 05:13 PM

in your browser click
tools
internet options
connections
LAN settings
Click the Proxy Server box and input any one of these wonderfull proxies i have accumulated over the months happy:
