Hey I got a question for you guys.
Hey I was sitting around when I realized that SH sucks really badly. Then I started to think of how I liked the maps. SO that brought me to my question. Is it possible to convert SH maps to AA so that aa peeps can play badass SH maps?

ea conveniently changed the coding/version of their spearhead maps so that they wouldn't play in moh
then you'd have problems such as mortars mgs etc |
IC, so you are telling me that it is impossible? I mean that sucks! Are you 100 percent sure that it is not possible? Because it would be so AWESOME to be able to play Brest in AA. So are you sure? Man that sucks!

Hey guys. Well I have been told ever since SH came out that it was impossible. Well guess what? Its not. Prone, Planes, and now SH -> AA. Here are the pics. and YES it needs TONS of work and yes some textures are not the same, I am working on it very hard and I will keep you up to date! Lemme know what you think tho! um huh.....yeah I havnt posted in this thread before now. Oh and btw, it IS possible to convert those maps to AA. would take an ass of time to do right though. and as said above you would have to lose the mortars and portable mg's since AA wont support the weapon types.

Well yes, but I mean with scorpio's mods about the MG42 and all, you could just add it yourself. But my goal was the map not the objects.

lookin good sniped lookin good! SH wa only good for maps and some new weapons, other than that it sucked. th sp was easy and there arent too many servers out there. glad to see some1 makin SH maps for AA biggrin:

Well I was (At first) Going to convert all the Multiplayer maps. But After I got indepth with Brest, I realized that this project would consume WAYYY to much of my time and I feel just releasing 1 map and proving I can do it and release the technique I used, that it would be sufficent.

Well most of SH maps were created by a modder and then adapted BY EA.
Gewitter - THunder Stadt - Small City. etc you should be able to most of them as a custom map already the only exception would be versnith (no idea how to spell that) its a single player map from AA and Brest which is a single player map from SH. BTW as to spearhead sucking I disagree with you. AA has just as many bugs as SH Its just that most people have played it so long they dont notice them anymore. The main thing to me in what makes a good game is whether you have fun playing it. If you dont move on to another game. |

i converted a SH map a few months ago with scorps bsp converter. it was the first sp mission from the game, and i wanted to see how they did the skybox in that map and the aa fire in the background. every face on the models got converted to one brush tho, and theres hundreds of trees in that map = hundreds of thousands of brushes, just for the trees.
and even if that screenshot is from SH, its obvious its at least been loaded into mohr. theres brushes missing and textures changed, and the path in all the screenshots is totally different. the only way any of those can be changed is in mohr, or when the bsp gets converted to a .map |

Well I am trying to clean Brest up a bit so that it may look nice and so that it is playable. It is now, but it is very sloppy after being converted. The converter I use, converts 1:4 ratio on brushes. So yes there is a BIG mess and yes it is a BIG task, but I am willing to work on it a bit. I am involved with school at the present time and I will be working on it on and off, but I will get it done. Peace out guys! -Sniped |
