Throwable Mortars for AA

After playing the BT demo, I realized that there are still some things left untouched in the AA modding scene. After brainstorming for awhile, I decided to make some throwable mortar rounds for Allied Assault. I am currently using a temp model/skin just to show you how it works. The mortar round acts exactly like the ones that are launched from tubes in SH, including explosion upon impact. I am currently tweaking things here and there for a final product.

Check the screenshots below. Enjoy.

That's pretty cool, man!

Hehe Cool biggrin:

I'm going to remove the smoke trail, as that is for the tube-fed rounds that SH uses. Other than that, this should be done. The SH version is next on the list.

wow, looks good.

Ok, the SH version is now completed. I will be tweaking the AA version alittle bit more. Both versions should be ready for public beta testing by the end of the weekend.

Check the SH screenshots below. Enjoy.

HeadUp 09-13-2003 03:34 AM

outstanding idea 1944
its like the morter rounds they used in spr

im gonna go with littletoy on this one-- is it possible to move the round up the hand and use the grenade anims?

Littletoy 09-13-2003 04:12 AM

Why the nade anims, i guess it's only possible to do it with da StielHandgranate anims or something:)

Doc Hayward 09-13-2003 04:20 AM

That would need helluva anims happy:

Doc Hayward 09-13-2003 05:15 AM

ya but it would be fun and more life like, then just throwing it in the air and it exploding

1944 09-13-2003 07:06 AM

It uses the stick grenade animations.

Once I get the new version of LightRay, I'll start working on animations. The version I have dosen't do them very well.

Doc Hayward 09-13-2003 08:35 AM

nice jolb anyway biggrin:

1944 09-13-2003 08:56 AM

Ok, I redid the model again. Now it looks more appropriate. I also added the hud icon for the AA version. I will be exploring the animation area to see what I can accomplish with the older version of LR3D. I cannot promise anything however.

Check this new screenshot below. Enjoy.

Duz it replace the nade or duz it work some other way?

1944 09-15-2003 06:12 AM

All you can do is replace weapons in MOH. The mortar replaces the grenade.
