A's suck. Teehee.
|
who? what? when?
I only follow hockey |
Then stay out of the F-in' thread until you do. biggrin:
|
There are so many people looking forward to this ALCS. Maybe time to break the Bambino's curse?
I hope so. |
Man, look at the NLCS too! Everyone was saying the Braves and the Giants. Who would of thought. I always like to see the underdogs win, though. The Sox and the Cubs would be a good WS matchup.
|
Tell me about. Would love to see that. But before then, the Cubs have to get their shit wired tight before facing the Marlins. The Marlins are hot and cranking up the heat.
|
Yankees will destory the Red Sox and Marlins will beat the cubs.
And even though i'm a Yankee fan...Marlins will pull another wild card world series victory just like in 1997. |
That's the way it's looking, but I hope the Sox and Cubs pull some shit out and go to the Big Show.
|
Man, whatta game! Watched every minute.
See Johnny Damon collision in CF? Holy shite! Worst smack I've ever seen anyone take in baseball. Ugly stuff! Cubbies vs Sox in the big dance! That'd be sweet. |
I heard the game was good. they came back from two games down to win 3 straight, gg Red Sox.
Sopposevly, everyone feels Red Sox - Yanks will be the real world series, not the pennant race. I dunno though, I still think it will be an interesting series tho. |
Being from NE I watched the last part of the game.
Funny thing is. We had an earthquake here in RI @ 9:30 -ish PM. It was only a 1.6 Just imagine what would happen if they beat the Yankees ed: |

cubbies vs. sox.......talk about all time highest ratings!

to bad I don't watch baseball :(
|
I was almost screaming at my TV to bring Lowe in! I saw him in there and was speechless. Of coarse, I willed him onto the mound, so the Red Sox won all because of me.

I'm not a big baseball fan but we don't get many opportunity up here in New England, so we need to rejoice whenever we get a chance. |

Ugh, Yankees-Marlins would be terrible.
Red Sox - Cubs or even Yankees - Cubs would be fine. As long as Florida stays as far away from the World Series as possible. Not because the team doesn't deserve it, but because the seemingly bandwagon Florida fans don't deserve it. I say give it to the die hard Cubs or Sox fans, definately. As a Sox fan I would tip my hat to the Cubs if they won it, their FANS sure do deserve it. |
Its Red Socks people
The entire year Boston has beat the piss out of New York, but New York managed to maintain a better record then Boston.. Well see if the curse is true or not soon enough. |
New york won the season series 10-9
And I just don't like the Red Sox or cubs... blue Jays > all though... |

Marlins win Game 1 vs Cubs and if you watched the game it was no fluke...and they dind't fluke vs giants either. |
I caught a glimpse of the Marlins Cubs game. I heard Marlins were up 4-0, but in the 8th it was 6-6. Final score anyone?
|
9-8 Marlins, in the 11th.

Game 2 of the ALCS: NY 6 BOS 2
Series tied at 1 apiece |
Taken from today's (Oct 10, 03) LA Times Sports pages:
American League Playoff Game Capsules (Thursday, October 9th) Final Score: New York 6, Boston 2 Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Andy Pettitte pitched 6 2/3 strong innings and Nick Johnson hit a two-run homer, as the New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox, 6-2, to even their best-of-seven American League Championship Series at one game apiece. Boston won the opener of the series, 5-2, at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday behind a masterful performance by knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. The series now moves to Boston on Saturday with an attractive pitching matchup of Pedro Martinez for the Red Sox and Roger Clemens for New York. Pettitte (2-0) came up big once again for New York, giving up just two runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and two walks. This was the second big win in as many tries for Pettitte in this year's postseason, as he also won Game 2 of the American League Division Series against Minnesota with a solid effort. The Yankees also lost the opener of that series at home before rallying back with three straight wins to advance. Jose Contreras tossed 1 1/3 perfect innings before Mariano Rivera closed out the contest with a scoreless ninth. Jorge Posada added insurance runs with a two-run double in the seventh for New York, which defeated the Red Sox in five games in the 1999 ALCS. That was the only other postseason meeting between these two storied franchises and fierce rivals. Derek Lowe (0-2) suffered the loss after giving up six runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. Lowe, pitching for the fourth time in nine days, was the hero of Boston's ALDS series-clinching win over Oakland. He also pitched well in his Game 3 start and struck out the final two batters in Game 5 to help the Red Sox complete a comeback from two games down in the series. Jason Varitek had two hits, including a solo homer, in the losing effort for Boston, which has lost 13 of its last 15 ALCS games. 10/10 00:29:34 ET |
Yankees easilly won that...boston can't prevail when they ahve a chance...too bad eh
