Anyone know of any books on Vasily Zaitsev?
 

I've seen the movie Enemy At The Gates serveral times, and like it, but here it very unrealistic. So, I was wondering, does anyone know of any books that tell the true tail of Vasily Zaitsev?

I think there's a book called like, The 412 Sniper Div. Or something. whatever division it was that Vasily was in.

yes, its a novel by William Craig.
you don't think that hollywood could come up with that story all by themselves?
they were only creative enough to utterly bastardize Craig's work mad:

enemy at the gates is an old novel so there may be some soviet innacuraccies ( i haven't read it)

Craig did a bit of "first hand" research, mainly interviewing Soviet, German, and Italian survivors and studying official action reports.

yeah, i know that, but the numbers and a few accounts taken from soviet sources might be inaccurate. i don't think we'll ever know most of the numbers on the eastern front...
