Hey guys!

Whenever a new game it out my friend and i usually pool our money and buy it, but would that work with this game? I am wondering about having two players playing MOHAA at the same time. Like cd-key problems and what not. Well get back to me, thanks!

MaRkiE 01-21-2002 06:22 AM

Will work. I have three comps using one cd key.

KangSa 01-21-2002 06:34 AM

Mark you serious? If so then there's no point me and my bro both getting one...

If it req. a CD to play then you have to both buy it because the games now-a-days have blocks on them to keep them from being copied. My bro and I both used Serious Sam, only one purchase, and played LAN all the time.

Our main thing is being able to play online. Cause mark may have just been talking about loading it on 3 comps but not playing online with them all at the same time

KangSa 01-21-2002 07:48 AM

Mark can you clear that up for us? Like logging all three comps and see if you can play a game with one CD-key? Thankz

My bro and I share one copy of the game and one cd-key and we play online at the same time, but the copy we have is warez. I'd wait until the 22nd or later to see if this is possible with the retail copy, but I'm betting that the game is released people with warez will be screwed for MP. If this is the case, I'll buy the retail game.

01-21-2002 08:11 AM

I believe you unfortunately CAN share the same CD KEY.

There's no CDKEY Authentication Server for MoH:AA so it doesn't matter if you use the same CDKEY as someone else.

This would probably be the only practical case of it...two siblings or friends sharing the same CD KEY since they live together. But with Warez they just steal it out right.

Oh well. Not me losing the money..

Paullo 01-21-2002 08:51 AM

that's sad, the only reason for me to buy 2 copies is so that my bro and i can play mp together. should really thank EA tho, cause now i won't need to spend as much $ compare with other games i bought like d2 and cs etc.

DsturbD 01-21-2002 09:07 AM

With QIII I've got 3 PCs all with the same CD key online at the same time.

DsturbD 01-21-2002 09:09 AM

http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/dl.cgi?flt-moh!ace

This is ONLY for those that bought the game and want to play without the CD.

MaRkiE 01-21-2002 09:45 AM

No, I have 3 comps that all use the same cd key online. I know some games, like wolfenstein, require different cd keys this one doesnt. To prove my point. 5000-0000000-0000000-5068 is my cd key. Anyone can go right ahead and use it.

Dont blow youre horns to loud guys, this is a simple net code adjustment, one single 30kb patch could set this up.

Inforit 01-22-2002 07:23 AM

The game needs a CD key authentication like Q3 and HL does. That will force people to buy the game for Multiplayer and keep the warez cheating people out of the games.

RSColonel_131st 01-22-2002 07:44 AM

Right on the money inforit.
Heck, even if you play it with your Brother in the internet...you BOTH should get a copy.

Shifty, Kangsa, what are you going to work one day, once your out of school?

How will it feel if someone copies your work for free and screws you backwards for your money?

Sheez, kids today aren't what they used to be. At least some years earlier you didn't talk proudly about WAREZ and copying.

PM17 01-22-2002 08:09 AM

U dont need cdkey authorization..the FLT release gave a cdkey and 1000s of people prolly used it...if the game would require authorization the key'd be banned by now and I can still play online..so doubt that

SS soddit 01-22-2002 08:20 AM

it depends on whether or not the CD key is stored or just used to unlock the installer.
if its stored then it might be used for checks in the un-warezed version, tho i can tell you the warezed version has no problems with multiple users with one CD key.
and yes i have bought the game, but i got impatiant, 1st feb my arse.

First Man Down 01-22-2002 08:24 AM

MaRkiE, I'm assuming that all warez copies come from the same source and share the same CD-key because you have the same one that I have.

I never mentioned anything about copying/warez. In fact didn't I mention I preordered 2 copies from EB? I just think a CD-Key would really help...I mean if I have to pay for a game while others don't, you think I'll look smart? People will just think I'm an idiot.

Kangsa - did you get your copies from EB yet? It seems pre-orders are getting to people LATER than wal-mart has it on shelves. Whats up with that?

I got over-night, but I think I'm getting it tomorrow. Which kinda sucks.

Man I feel old, when I was a kid if you said the word warez people would think you were a special needs child since it didnt exist, shoot, the internet didnt even exist. I say, if you want to go through all the BS of getting a warez program, and the programers dont protect their stuff, then oh well. BTW, I will be buying my copy today..

Sorry Kangsa, but initally you said something like "if there's no CD-Key for MP... If so then there's no point me and my bro both getting one..."

That sounded pretty much like buying one copy for two people to play.

Okay, for brothers I could prolly understand...but it still isn't right.

If you have preordered two, enjoy them.

Overon 01-22-2002 10:51 AM

True. Unlike q3 and return to castle wolfenstein, mohaa doesn't require cdkey authorization online.

SS.SGW~Siggi 01-22-2002 10:54 AM

I've seen even top line PC mags give the same BS info...you need a CD in each machine to play on a LAN.

Every game I've ever played on my LAN I boot the game up on the first rig (into MP), then take the CD out and put it in the 2nd rig and boot it into MP...both rigs then run the game just fine. Once the prog has verified the presence of the CD on startup it no longer needs to CD in the tray.

One copy, you can play it on as many rigs simultaneously as you like. If MoH is any different I'd be very suprised. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif
