Trouble Making a Compass
 

Hi,

I'm currently trying to make a compass. I'm using photoshop 5.0. The problem that i am having is that I cannot get the background of the compass to be transparent. If i create new with a transparent background i can only save the file in photoshop format. I need it to be a tga file. Can someone please help me?

I downloaded photoshop 7.0 trial. I'm still having the same problem. It wont let me save the image with the transparent background as a tga file. Am i doing something wrong? I'm not very familar with photoshop. Please help!

Dude, you were taking way too fucking long to make the site, Hayward. I'm gonna be done with the site I'm making by tomorrow, and I started it yesterday.

Cant save as a gif. It needs to be tga to work in medal of honor doenst it?

no, i think you just need to make sure it is a gif in your shader

save as a tga so there is no scripting if u r new to it (even tho its very easy to do) anyway. create a layer from background and color the first layer transparent... ive told almost everyone that...

I tried that but it wont save as a tga. How can i save it as tga?

you cant just change the type in the file itself
ex- compass.gif to compass.tga

I found the shader and changed the compassback.tga to compassback.gif. Still didnt work! I know this is very simple. I must just be missing something. Can anyone give me step by step, idiot proof directions? I would really appreciate it!
