I still think enlisting is the dumbest thing you can do.
"I want to become a fucking pawn at another incompetent man's disposal. Oh sure, he doesn't care about me at all and if he has to, will use me for cannon fodder... but I love my country so much I'll give it my life." Weird. I respect countries that adhere to the non-agression principle and that give the citizens every liberty they can (so long as those liberties don't violate the non-agg. pr.) but I somehow can't bring myself to believe an outside enemy will ever take them away from me. If anything, the enemy is inside... In any case, good luck on the path you've chosen, Zapotoski. I hope you find in it what you're looking for. The fulfilment of happiness and happiness of fulfilment... |
Good luck to you Capt.Zap! beer:
Tip: impress your superiors by locating Osama and Saddam |

|

|
Oooh Raahh future devil dog.....

Thanks for all the support guys, it means allot.
For the reason why I enlisted... well, I can literally write an essay on the reasons why. But it's mainly serving my country... sure, you've probably heard that reason five millions times, but it's honestly why I signed those military enlistment papers instead of going to a 4 year college - which I easily could of been accepted into. Men before me in several different wars gave thier lives for there country and family and I'm no different. No, I'm not saying Im going to die, but if it comes to the part where I might have to give my life, I won't hold back. Those men "gave it all" for future generations like me, now I'll serve and do my part. By the way 'pest', it's written in black & white so I know for a fact i'll get intelligence... it's not like it was years ago. I'll be sure to come back here and post my Marine Corps graduation photo :) That's if my job training barracks are allowed to have computers. It's one year long... cry: |
G'Luck & GG, Zap.

For some reason when i was reading your answer to my question, you sounded like Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid lol, it was kinda cool |

Intel? Ask yourself something zap... how are you going to use that on the outside? With me, I'm trying to do shit that will help me when I get done with my stint.
|
I'm going for the expierance... not the JOB expierance. My intent after I serve my five years is to attend college and either become a history teacher or go back in as an officer and make a career out of the Marine Corps.
So I assume you're military Kraut, what branch, job? |
Try bargaining with ur DI when he tells u do to push ups. Also tell him hes camo looks cute on him and see what he does.
|
Do not listen to Bean's advice. Intel has plenty of jobs on the outside (if you want to do that kind of work).
|
I'm in the Army, trying for SF. After a full combat tour, I'm going to re-up as an MP. All this so I can have a better chance of getting onto a SWAT team when I get out. Most SWAT have military backgrounds, a lot in SF, and with re-upping as an MP, I can get help in job placement when I get out... or at least that's the plan.
|
Where are you stationed and what is your current MOS?
I was offered a SF assestment slot right after basic and AIT training for the Army. |
I'm stationed comfortably at home, and I forgot my MOS. I'm currently in the U.S. Army's college first program, I'm leaving in 2005. With a little edumacation behind me, getting some of my CJ major done, will make it easier to get a job in the police department when I get out.
