It's because of them that i play ONLY realism mods. When you are on those servers you actually have to aim...it's funny to watch newbies show up with their shotguns and get there asses torn to bits!! hellfire:

the ones who whine about shotguns do so because they get owned by them. the shotgun is a real and legit weapon, whats wrong with using it? if you are fighting in small hallway with a garand or k98, then you are a fucktard.

i would pick the thompson or k98 over the shotty any day of the week. when i play moh, i pick the weapon that best suits for my style of fighting. i use the shotty on stalingrad, the alleys of algiers, room cleaning and close fighting. i like to pick people off from a distance so i mainly use the garand, enfield and all the other rifles but i get bored after a while. if you use the shotty all the time you just run the risk of getting flushed out when you are discovered. i just think its lame when people are pissed that they get killed by a shotgun just because it is a shotgun.

yah i agree.. another thing they should look at is fixing how quickly you can scope with a sniper rifle.. its so easy to see a target, scope, and hes dead within a second. being a sniper, i wouldnt mind having a delayed scope to make it a little easier for bolt action rifles to have a CHANCE at firing at you. otherwise, the bolt action is of no effect from distance.

I think cod sniper rifle scopes need a even bigger delay. /Rifles dont do enough damage for some reason i make a direct shot with a sniper in the chest = dead Direct shot with kar in the chest and the guy lives some how....

Well I've noticed that no matter what game you play there are always those who instead of figuering away of beating a weapon they try to get it banned.

COD:

Sniper Rifle.

Russain PPSH - the deadliest cqc weapon in COD that can burn through a 70 round clip almost faster then the MP40 or Thompson can go through a 30 round clip.

Halo:

Fuel Rod Gun - Last time I checked the ban this thread was 6 pages.

Pistol - yup pistol owns in Halo

Raven Sheild:

L85A1 - Assault Rifle built in scope and with slincer has 100% stabilty which is an important factor in this game.

im not to fond of the ppsh. It may burn bulles faster then a lighter to an aerosol can, but its range is horrible. most rifle men with a bit of skill can pick um off easily before they can get up close and do any real damage.

-as for snipers like i said the scope is great/ realistic but the delay in geting the scope to your eye is to short making for like in mohaa making snap shot snipers where you have almost no chance against even in short and long range engagements. beer: cheers. 1.1 patch shall be interesting when it arrives.

i don't mind shotgun when realism is on...in realism you have to be right on top of the person to get good shots...like in real life.
But i'm sure everyone knows what i'm talking about in maps such as the missle complex in which people just run around with their shotguns and blast everyone with one or 2 shots your dead...So what happenes? EVERYONE ends up using a shotgun...which is absolutely retarded.

My sentiments EXACTLY I can't stand it when i put like 5 or 6 shots froma BAR into a guy and fires like once or twice and downs me. they then talk shit like they are good but really...put anything else in their hands and they'll get so owned they will think others are cheating!! haha

I have no problem with any other weapons...rockets are fine and quite usefull if you have like 5 snipers per bunker on the omaha map. snipers are annoying...but at least you know it takes skill.

granted a shotgun is good for V2 map but on some servers the shotgun has an imbalance of power so that people can simply charge guys whith rifles, mg's, and smg's and just level them. It takes away from the game and some people rely on them too much. My main point...
THEIR POWER IS IMBALANCED AND PEOPLE ABUSE THEM. but not all people.

Also when their power is too imbalanced everyone ends up using them and before you know it all you have is a prey and spray charge fest.

If you want to get realistic how real is it to have people running down halls so as to get as close as possible...in real life poeple would crawl and sneak their way around corners...like you would have to in real life, and that is what usually happens when shotguns don't hijack the map.
Also along the lines of realism...shotguns were not a common weapon at all among slodiers in the war...and they were especially more uncommon among axis forces...and as another said...i KNOW the germans didn't have winchester shotguns LOL rolleyes:

well. Hitler felt the same way about shotguns as most of u guys do. Back in WW2 the usual combat engineer was handed a shotgun to use in the field. now this weapon was so devastating at close range it seemed almost unfair on the battlefield. Now Hitler's engineers were usually equipped with the Mauser. And after looking at this many casualties in the field he decided that this was against the gentlemenly rules of war. So he tried getting it banned at the genuva convention. Fortunately it was never banned and the combat engineers fought on with this powerful weapon.

shotguns are overpowered because other weapons are pussified compared to real life. Fortunately most shotgun users are uber n00bs and can be out dogfought (use of higher altitude is advisable)

I think i made my points clear. I think most people would agree that shotguns are too powerful and that it is a pain in the ass when newbies abuse them to kill veteran players not using them. I find it annoying when because of the power of them whole servers become a pray and spray fest. I have been playing for over a year and although i can't prove it obviosly i believe i am pretty good or at least better than average.

The intensity to which you reacted to my comments show me that obviosly you have nothing better to do in your life at the moment than play MOH. Relax man. annoy:


Oh and in regards to the shotguns being banned it was actually a Peace conference in the hague. The problem was the ammo not the guns. Expanding and soft ammo was outlawned. Since buckshot is soft and thus expanded when it hit flesh it could be argued that shotguns were thus an illegal weapon. However they are still utilized in militaries all over.
