mONTREAL wINS.....

Montreal WON... But i am still proud of what the argo's did accomplish.

Looks like Edmonton and Montreal in the Grey up Final.

Was fun while it lasted.... beer:

ninty 11-09-2003 11:37 PM

Montreal sucks. So does Toronto, but Montreal is the better team.

Too bed sask. didn't make it. i really wanted to see Saskatachewan okay at home. That would have been sweet to see 1/4 of Reginas population cheering on their team. Rinder fans are nuts.

Shitty game by sask today. They only woke up with 6 minutes lift in the 4th quarter. Maybe if they had woken up at the beginning of the 4th quarter they would have one.

Down by 3 touchdowns they get 2 with 6 minutes left. Onside kick and a bad call by the refs. sask should have had that ball, but they made them kick it again and it only went 8 yards so it was an illegal kick. Too bad. It would have been cool to have sask with the ball with 20 seconds left and need a touchdown to tie. And they almost did it all in 6 minutes. amazing.

Toronto > Edmonton and Sask.

Ozma 11-10-2003 12:07 AM

maybe in 50 years they will ahve another winning season.

ninty 11-10-2003 12:09 AM

I'm from Calgary and I suppose I cheered for the Als last year, but I realised that when it gets down to it, the cup belongs in the West. So I have no problem with cheering for the Esks, while being a hardcore Calgary fan.

Correction, the cup belongs in the East, like last year.

ninty 11-10-2003 12:15 AM

West is a way batter division. You can't deny that.

Better = Grey cup.

Edmonton...lousy teams. Maple LEAFS destroyed the Oilers on saturday. fucking priceless

And Toronto should of beat Montreal, the guy fucking bobbled anf umblerd that ball around, if there was a fucking replay that would of never been considered a catch.

Talk about being screwed over.

Perhaps. Both Toronto and Sask got screwed. They both had a chance to win their games but this is the way the cards fell.

Pyro 11-10-2003 11:16 AM

It was supraising that Clagary won it that year. It was like if saying Toronto won this year. A Team they wouldn't of expected to win that year. They played well in the playoffs.

I still wish it wasn't the same final as last year.

American football is better, but CFL aint too bad, dont really watch it

and the oils fucking rule, greatest team ever...

4 years of winning the cup doens't make a team (as a whole) the best team ever. Oilers are not even close to being said that.

At the time the team could be considered one of the best esembled teams. But overall, Oilers haven't had enough winning teams to be considered the best team ever. That would go to Montreal then Toronto then Detriot.

Yeah I was suprised too. We really turned it on at the end of the season, though and went rocking through the playoffs.

Yeah it would be a better final if it were different teams. I still would have really enjoyed watching Sask play in Regina.

Montreal sure, Detroit sure, Toronto? Are you letting your bias get in the way? When was the last time Toronto won the Cup? 1960 something? At least Montreal won it in the 90's.

And the Eskimos have made the playoffs for the past 30 some odd years. I can't remember the exact number but its somewhere around there. You could call that a great team, since its the longest in ANY professional sport in North America.

Simo Häyhä 11-10-2003 12:15 PM

you know its a big game when sports center shows highlights of it.

ninty 11-10-2003 12:57 PM

They showed highlights in the states?

Sports Center is ESPN right?

ESPN owns TSN in Canada so it would be easy for ESPN to get highlights of the games.

no matter what the situation, a true calgarian will not cheer for the esks or any edmonton team for that matter. i'd rather see the netherlands take the grey cup than edmonton (yes i know that the netherlands are not in the cfl, don't flame on that comment, just trying to make a point)

Simo Häyhä 11-11-2003 09:49 PM

yup there was highlights of it in the states. i like football and its a shame that ESPN dosent feature the cfl a little bit more

I think you take things too seriously. Edmonton is a city in the Province of Alberta. The same province we live in, and the capital. I don't hate Edmontonians or their teams.

Don't tell me what a "true Calgarian" is either. I serve in the Army Reserves with the Calgary Highlanders. I don't know of a truer thing to do than serve your City, Province and Country.

But were talking about sports. Why should I not cheer for Edmonton just because its Edmonton? Thats the stupidest reason i've ever heard. People are blind.

In a lot of "old folks" communities they will play the playoff/grey cup games on sattelite in bars. My grandparents used to spend November in Plam Springs California and they always went out to catch the games.

Spoken like a true, bitter Leafs fan. rolleyes:

The 1984-1985 Edmonton Oilers would've beaten any team from any era...present day, old school...doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is, they were the best team to ever lace 'em up. Period.
