I think I think if they catch the people they should make them deface 10 peace memorials.... oops I forget we don't build memorial to peace.. Actually it is too bad, we need those type of memorials, so we and future generations can be reminded of price that has been paid for or freedoms. And mabye someday in the far off future archeolgist will unearth them and try understand why we found killing each other was easier then trying to resolve our differences by peaceful means.
In the meantime the people that deface the war memorials do nothing for their supposed causes, they dishonor the people who really are against war, and dishonor those who have served their respective countries in times of war.

I generally like wars (if its a good cause) and I definetly support the veterans, but I hate the Shrub. The Cenotaph in downtown Calgary was defaced yesterday morning as well. The Cenotaph is a monument erected to honour those killed in WWI WWII and the Korean War. They were scrambling to clean it up because there was going to be a ceremony there at about noon. I think they got it cleaned up before. I can understand people wanting to protest, but that is the wrong way to do it. They wouldn't be abe to do those things if regular citizens haden't fought for their freedom. Kind of ironic. Monuments represent the sacrifices made by those who fought for the better of our country, not the glorification or approval of wars.

Outside Mewata Armouries, where my unit The Cahgalry Highlanders are based, there is a Sherman Tank as well as a Mk. II Universal carrier from WWII. Both of them were defaced last year. It's sad.

you can't stop likeing a band because of the actions of some people. the band chooses to share there political views in a peaceful way, that people who choose not to listen to, don't have to. i respect bands like these that share there opinions in a way people can enjoy.

IMHO this kind of stuff is just as bad as pissing on the crucifix, If I were in power I would have them paraded around for a month with a big sign slung round them stating what they did. Hopefully they might run into some vets or something...
