It's a girl!

I became a dad today. My daughter was born at 10:58AM cst.
She was born six weeks premature but both mom and baby are
doing well. She was 4lbs. 10oz and 17in long. The situation became
rather serious early this morning and the baby was delivered via emergency C-section. I feel extremely happy and at the same time very fortunate that
everything turned out ok. beer: beer: quickshot: biggrin:

Fireal 11-18-2003 05:47 PM

ninty 11-18-2003 05:49 PM

Congratulations!

Premature birth is always scary, as I had a cousin who was born prematurely a few years ago and was basically on life support for a few weeks. But it’s good that everything turned out OK for you and your family.

Now you get to teach her Baseball, Hockey, Cars, How to build stuff with your hands...oh wait...you get to have tea parties, and barbies playhouse and all that fun stuff! biggrin:

I'm just jokin with ya. Cangrats again.

11-18-2003 07:56 PM

Wow , Congrates man.

I'll tell you a story man.

I was so afraid , I didnt think I was ready. I mean I was 22 years old. I thought , ok from here on out I change everything. I didnt think I could do it........

Let me start from the begining....

I was a solgiar , me and my wife were in Germany. Now I was at a change of command ceremony , If you have never seen one or been in one , it works like this:
The base CO is leaving and there will be a new base CO. So a ceremony is held for the old CO to say , Had a great time , blah , blah. And the new CO to say Im proud to be a part of 1st Armor Div. , blah , blah....

So we are ALL out there , the whole base( exept the guys that have duty , gate guards , medics , ect. ). So right in the middle of this ceremony the Pl. Sgt comes around and wispers in my ear , " Specialist Sewell , fall out and meet me behind the formation" So I do , and he tells me The Lt. has taken my wife to the hospidal. So Im outta there. Had an Audi then , and Germanys Autobaun has no speed limit.........140MPH to the Launsthul Hospital! lol.

Now that was a bad night , may have gotten 4 hrs of sleep between me AND my wife. 28 hours later , we are ready....

I swear I had to take a knee , I almost passed out TWICE! But about 8:30 that morning , I met my Daughter for the first time.

Despite the fact I had not sleept in almost 3 days , I got up 6 times that night just to check on her.

The day before she was born , I was not ready to be a father. The day before she was born , I was not ready to be that much of a man.

But the day after I was. And every day after that I have grown stronger. My little girl is 4 now , and she is telling me ALL about everything , Why this and Why that.....lol.

This will be one of the most amazing things that has ever happen to you man.

Once again , Congrates and welcome to parenthood.

P.S. Get a copy of Bill Cosbys Himself. Watch this with your wife. You will now understand what he is talking about.

a forum noob, could some one PM me a quick tut on how to take
some of the pics out of my e-mail and post them here. I should be
recieving a lot of pics that my family have taken. I would like to pick out a few good ones to post. I'll try to do it tomorrow. rock: rock:
