FREEDOM TOWER Tribute? Target?
 

Well I think its great they are building a symbol of freedom in the heart of the city that never sleeps, but I can't help but think that it's just gonna be another target for some crazy ass terrorist to bomb. I worry about it because that was the first thing I thought of when i saw it not how great it was.

What do you all think?

it sux, it looks gay and they forgot the AA guns on the top. i think they should have rebuilt them the way they were before, but i doubt anyone would want to work in such a tall building anymore. if i did, i would keep a parachute in my desk.

I think they should have rebuilt them like they were but put a couple 5"/54cal naval guns on top, auto-loading and radar guided, the guns would be more to scare stupid terrorists from trying again rather than actually shooting planes, because the plane would still hit city even if you shoot it down.

Jeez, I remember back when everyone was shitting their pants about Anthrax, the fire department/posion control and all them were called to like, 10 buildings each week with an anthrax scare.

It usually turned out to be Baby powder, as it was found on that table in the washroom where you can change your babies diaper.

If Bush is still the president I thinkit could become a target. but he'll be long gone before it's done I hope.

It's gonna have some sort of blast-resisant glass thing (meh) in the lobby area.

That actually looks pretty cool.

Anyway, I bet it'll be the most sophisticated building in the world. it'll have every piece of technology avaliable today implemented and it won't get attacked. It'll be some other building.

It's a great tribute, but it's also a slap in the face to terrorists, IMO.

yea...maybe it will be a target, but if any country is stupid enough to bomb/destroy it their country will no longer exist 10 minutes later.

Its been over 2 years. Where is Usama? Afghanistan is still kicking, they havnt really changed.

we will never find osama, hes been hiding all his life used to all those poor desert conditions...unless someone rats him out. highly unlikely.

we did have bombing runs for a little after 9/11...but that really didnt do much besides "we might have hit a chemical weapons plant"

Don't you mean the Taliban? Last time I checked, Afghanistan is with us. Oh yeah and there hasn't been a terrorist attack on a major country since September 11

its a beutiful Tribute. I think Security is now tight enough though for it to be safe.

let's put reflect damage on it so when terrorists try to do something to it, they just blow themselves up!

I think you are dead wrong. I think if another attack happens on the United States the United States Govt. is gonna be seeking a hell of a lot of blood. Unfortunately.

When the embassies were bombed in 1999 by extremists from Afganistan Clinton ordered a major bombing raid over that country. When the World Trade Center was taken down we infiltrated Afganistan in search of the source. If anything like that happens again I fear a major occupation of the mideast that shadows what is going on now. Which prob wont solve a damn thing and will make things worse but if you live in the USA and aren't under a rock you know we don't take being fucked with well.

Crashing planes into building is old plan. The terrorist network is most likely formulating a new tactic and plan.
