Ok, my DoD disc must be scratched or something since during the installation process it says their is a corrupt file.

So, is there any way to fix this without buying a new CD?

dl the FREE version. Why the hell did u buy it in the first place. But it sucks now with steam.

I didn't buy it, and I don't have Half-life.

Well try updating ur drivers and everything and if that doesnt work try getting a disk cleaner.

lol a driver problem would have nothing to do with a currupt file during install, MR. Smart one.

(Most likely the disc is ruined. You will have to buy a new one.) Sucks I know.

Just download it off of irc.

go to the store and demand another, if they get pissy ask them to install on their computer.

Its not their fault that it got ruined though

Now that I think about it maybe the thing was ripped off in store for the cd key. It is happening a lot now because of online cd key verification.

Yeah, You just open the game box in the store. If they ask what you're doing you just say "I wanna make sure I'm not getting ripped off."

You're not damaging merchandise, or stealing anything. (Cept the CD key)

So its not illegal to download it

I heard putting it in boiling water for liek a couple minutes fixes scratches. heard it from my super smart at everything teacher

just use a shitty old music disk or somehting. Try 30 second the none minute ont go too long. Ithink it just hasto do with melting the plastic just enoug hto repair the scratches or something
