After installing Spearhead, can not play game: Insert CD?
 

After I install Spearhead and want to play the game I get:

" Please insert the correct CD rom, select OK and restart the application"

What can I do besides completely remove MOHSH and MOH AA?

You must have the MOH:AA or Spearhead CD in your computer to play.

The SH-CD is in the cd drive!

I can play MOHaa with the AA-cd without any problem.

Did you use the default directory?

Yes.

No solution yet, but this.

I tried teh game on another computer with 2 cd drives (One reader and another one can read/write)

The game starts immediately when I put it in the cd reader.
The game starts after a few attempts in the cd r/w.

The earlier mentioned problem exists on a brand new PC with a dvd r/w-cd r/w.

What I can doto "solve" this is to put the cd reader oft the other PC in the "new" pc.

Try this, remove all cd's from your computer, then reboot the computer. Open Windows Explorer, click the plus sign next to My Computer, click the plus sign next to Local Disk (C:), click the plus sign next to Program Files, click the plus sign next to EA Games, click the plus sign next to MOHAA.

Do you have a main and a mainta folder?

Now place the MOH Spearhead CD into the computer.
Does the light come on on the front of the CDRom?
Can you hear the cd start spinning?
Does the Install menu open up?

If yes click on EXIT.

Now double click on the Spearhead icon or the icon with chevrons.

Let us know OK.

The cd indeed started spinning (+ light went on).
But doubleclicking the icon results in same error:
" Insert correct CD rom,...."

Pitty.

(On my old computer everything works fine and the test speed result is "34x")

Sounds to me like your Reader is incapable of reading the disc.

But eeh,

The reader installs the game (spearhead), it also installs AND plays MOH-AA.

The only problem exists with playing the spearhead cd....

Have you tried to start Spearhead with both the SH and the AA playdiscs?

Dude I'm sorry but I'm out of ideas. Maybe you can return the Spearhead game or exchange it. Have you e-mailed EA Games about this?

No not yet because I only have one cd drive in the new computer.

Yes I tried that, gives the same error:
"Please Insert correct CD rom, close the application.....try again"
Now this error is correct because the wrong CD is in the drive.

Have you changed your CD Drive letter designations?

My CD letters are P,Q,R and all my games are installed from the Q drive which is a Plextor CD-RW.

I cannot start any game in any other CD-ROM except that Plextor. The system remembers which drive installed it.

If you have changed any drive letters around, just put your CD in the one that loaded it ( by drive letter ) not actual CD ROM.

Also if your Spearhead is a ( ouch ) duplicate, ONLY the CD-RW that made it will be able to read it.
