.......USA cry:

Trudel 01-05-2004 07:09 PM

Heh. Yeah. States looked good this year. Too bad the goal that won it for them went off our own player. We gave up a 3-1 lead though. You can't do that.

Three years in a row silver. All three years we were leading going into the third period. All three years the other team has come back. Must be a curse or something. Oops, I shouldn't have said that.

Sergeant_Scrotum 01-05-2004 07:16 PM

what a fucking joke 3-1 in the third only too loose?! what the fuck?! cry:

Canada was the better team and didn't show it.

It was pathetic the way they played the third period.

Zoner 01-06-2004 12:01 PM

The tourney is in North Dakota next year...

Attendance: 54

rolleyes:

The World Junior tourney has been a Christmas tradition in Canada for years. It was a given that on Boxing Day (the day after Xmas day), you'd eat leftover turkey and settle in for the World Juniors.

The USA didn't even send any press over to Finland this year to cover it. Why they were granted the tourney, I'll never know. They don't appreciate it and 99% of Americans don't even know it exists.

Makes me stomach sick thinking about it.

Trudel 01-06-2004 12:26 PM

We cruised through the round robin. We didn't have a challenge. And the US was picked the tourney favourite. Still, the US was palying better in the first. We wern't on our game. The second belonged to us. We got our game back and outplayed the American in every way. The third was a little more even, but we gave up bad goals. Its really too bad the goal that decided it was Fleury's fault and not an American player.

And in North Dakots:

Atendance: Americans 54, Canadians 15,000

I bet canadians will be flowing over the border to see the games next year.

Its too bad the team that wins doesn't get appreciated. Too bad they didn't get any press, they didn't have anyone to tell their victory to except TSN.

Pyro 01-06-2004 06:06 PM

I'm sorry the USA players weren't born in Canada. At least there they would of got respect for their accomplishments.

Sergeant_Scrotum 01-06-2004 08:12 PM

Thats one thing I think were pretty good for here in canada. We support our teams. At my school, even if I dislike the sport we all still go to the games & cheer em on.

Some are Canadian tho. The parents are Canadian but were born in the USA, so choose to tryout fot the USA team cause they new they couldnt make the Canadian Team. Reminds me of someone ...

http://nhl.com/lineups/player/8448091.html

The Canadians didnt deserve to win, but neither did the americans, and the fins, and definatly not the russians. It was one of the worst tourneys yet.

Did anyone else notice they played the 16 year old alittle to much? I know he is good and needed experience but he got his ass handed to him a couple times. Not what i was expecting.

ROFL Bret Hull. Hull is an awesome player. That one timer he has is amazing. And hes 3rd on all time scoring.

Are you talking about crosby? The entire team was young. 13 of the 18 players can come back next year. Next year the Americans will have pretty much nobody from the team that won this year because they will all be 20. All of our guys from this year will be 19, so thy'll have the experience and the motivation. Crosby is a good player. He had goals. I'd like to see him in 5 years to see what he can do in the NHL.

Pyro 01-06-2004 11:07 PM

bobby hull > Brett Hull

Brett Hull kicked ina goal in 1998 and knocked out a sabres team who deserved alot for the year they had.

Wasnt he only born in the states because his dad and mother were living there ? although his father is Canadian ?

Trudel 01-07-2004 01:01 AM

Yeah Bobby Hull is Canadian. And so is Brett. He was born in Ontario. I really don't know why he plays for the states.

He was cut from the Canadian Junior team. Because of his mom's nationality he was able to tryout for the American junior team. After he played the first game for them, he now cannot play for anyone else.

Considering we have better sports to watch the hockey, who would actually watch it? We have football, basketball, etc... during the winter.

Zoner 01-07-2004 01:51 PM

Alright, this has been debated and flamed over enough over the past few months.

It's getting old.

Americans = football
Canadians = Hockey

'nuff fucking said. sleeping:
