There were 1,200 casualties out of 21,400 troops who landed at Juno. A ratio of 1 casualty per every 18 soldiers.

Really, my point isn't that what canada did in the war was insignificant...

My point is that americans died in greater numbers, with higher casualty ratios in every war that americans and candians have fought "side by side" in, in the history of our two countries.

However, amercians don't seem to have this inferiority(sp) complex that causes us to break out into song everytime an american shows up in a video game.

We don't devote entire threads to the fact that americans are in a video game.

Because every other "western" culture and economic system, including canada's, is based upon america's. Canada's military is a much smaller twin of america's. In fact, nearly every large weapon used by the canadian military is an american product.

I know that while european's yearn for all things american, they also harbor resentment towards americans.

You've also totally missed my point about canada's millitary importing american weapons.

Speaking of the canaidan millitary not having any balls I found out some little facts.

Roughly 22,000 canadians landed in normandy. of them like 1200 died (1 in 18 like the guy said before) on june 6.

(btw... 60,000 americans landed with approx 6000+ dieing, or 1 in 10)

But after june 6 the canadians really showed their stuff... between june 6 and june 20 around 350 canadians died. in the same time period OVER 3000 americans died...

Canada exists soley for 18 year old americans to drive across the border to drink and go to titty bars.

I guess you've never heard of a company called Diemaco, eh? They make all Canadian Forces small arms. Their located in Quebec. As for larger weapons, why would we make them when its cheaper to buy them? I don't see the connection between making weapons, and having balls either. Can you explain this to me?

Well since your so great on facts I'll let you in on a couple others. Canada's population during WWII was 10 million people total. 1 Million fought in WWII. That means 1 out of every 10 person in the entire country has military service. THta doesn't include pretty much everyone else who worked on the homefront for the war effort.

I dn't know how to answer your question. So because less of us died (which isn't a good thing to you) that must mean we didn't do what we were supposed to? Can you explain this to e as well?

The only answer I can give to that is

1) there were less of us, therefore less people to die
2) we fought with the british, so when the Canadians fought, the British fought as well, which probably resulted in British deaths. Perhaps if you added these two numbers together, plus all the commonwealth dead, you'd find your magic number?
3) maybe we're better at getting out of the way of bullets, shrapnel, mortars and artillery fire.

Canada not making their own large weapons has more to do with the fact that canada is america's 51st state.

Here's a vietnam fact for ya... while canada offically remained neutral in the war, they cut off aid to north vietnam... sent billions in aid to south vietnam, and exported food and raw materials to america... who was the buyer? the pentagon. Hows that for spineless?
