ok I heard that once the battereies in that thing actually die you cant replace them and you have to pay some serious $$ to get it fixed or just buy a new one

all in all, the battery life suck, but the ipod is fucking awsome.
i did alot of research before i bought this thing, and i feel that i have made the right choice

ok. I personally wouldnt get one. I saw this video of a guy who got so pissed that the company wanted $200 to have it shipped to them and fix it then send it back that he stenceled out some words and spray painted it all over new york

wow a 100 dollars for a battery is really worth it... i wouldnt bie any of those yet the battery life is just too shitty from what i hear and i dont feel like spending 300 on something like that. what i did was just buy an mp3 cd deck for my car and it works really nice. now if i could just fix the blown speakers in the back hake:

Kind of expensive considering it only plays mp3s.

I got a 30gig and paid only $300...and I have had it on for like 5 months and the battery hasnt died yet. ipods fucking own, everyone in my family has one lol, no problems in like 3 years with them

I definately agree with that. What is the point of buying a $640 mp3 player when you can download a free one on your pc, buy one for about $200 or so for your car, or get a $40 walkman? I know the big thing is mobility, but here are the drawbacks as I see them:

You cant bring your ipod to school, or you risk getting it stolen, or confiscated.

You can listen to your mp3s at home on your pc, walkman, or car for a fraction of what you paid for your ipod.

In what situation would you need 100G of mp3s of music, and how situations arise where you are hours or days away from any other source of music other than an ipod?

You have to buy a $100 battery.

Let me know why you picked this in particular please.

That isnt necessarily true, my whole family has had them for over 2 years, and none of them are dead and we use them every day.

Very cool, but I for one, am Anti-Ipod. I just don't like it. Too much money, for something too useless. I have a $150 MP3 Player that holds 6GB, which is plenty of room for me.
