It is sad to see that people don't really realize what they are doing, or in this case not doing. I'm sure if they realized it, they would stand up, but their not really there to remember fallen and salute the flag, their there for the parade not really thinking what its about.

But i'm sure that fellow was once in the marines or some other unit, and the other people are obviously not.

People should stand and respect the men and women in uniform who lay thier lives down to protect THEM seflish assholes who are sitting on the sidewalk... and the whole point is that the crippled man IS IN A WHEEL CHAIR but somehow is able to push himself to stand to do exactly that and respect those men. As for the hippy/Vietnam argument: I don't see how approving of Johnson sending our boys to die in some asian shithole instead of trying to stop him is supporting our troops, its more like handing out their death sentences.
The only way to win Vietnam was to start by publically executing Ngo Diem's entire government, they were as bad (if not worse) than the communists, which is why many did not like the US, because to them we were supporting an asshole that was possibly worse than the asshole we were fighting.

I'd like to get off the subject now because I can rant about the mistakes we made in 'Nam for hours (ie. take one peice of land 20 times during one month and fall back 20 times rolleyes: )
