Hardkore Sledging
My friends and I decided to start practice for the Winter Olympics;
I have a small video here from when we first tried to film the stunt, we gave the camera to some guy passing by but he didn't film it too well, you can hear him say they're f*ing crazy though biggrin: http://saewulf.v21hosting.co.uk/backfieldschampions.wmv There was a big azz hill outside my friends house & there was still enough snow left on it for sledging. We nicked a road crash barrier thing and used it as a sled, then we decided to build a ramp at the bottom of the hill, the pictures tell the story. We picked up quite an impressive speed and must have cleared at least 10ft when we took off. rock: This is the hill, only about halfway up if that, there's as much of it when you turn around and look the other way. This is our customized bobsled & this is the ramp at the bottom of the hill Meh preparing pre sled checks 4 of us on the sled missing the ramp at about 20mph, the sled actually did a 180 turn and my friends foot can just be seen at the edge of the pic. Fluffy Bunny at the controls of the sled, I'm in mid air in this pic as I have just cleared the ramp. My buddy about 10ft away from the ramp after landing Moi, dazed & confused What was left of the ramp rock: rock: rock: rock:[/img] |

In Britland we call it 'Sledging'
Definition sledge UK [Show phonetics] noun [C] (US sled) an object used for travelling over snow and ice which has long narrow strips of wood or metal under it instead of wheels, and which is either a low frame, or (also sleigh) a carriage-like vehicle pulled by horses or dogs sledge UK [Show phonetics] verb [I or T] (US sled) to ride or travel on snow using a sledge |
